I received the sweetest gift a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to sharing it with you. Susan of
Maple and Magnolia emailed me asking me for my address. She was out treasure hunting and thought of me when she saw these vintage French copper measuring cups. I was so touched to say the least. The kindness of bloggers and friends we have never met always amazes me.
I have never seen anything like these before which makes them even more special. Great patina, too.
There are three of them. They are tall and narrow unlike our measuring cups.
I thought I would show them off by creating what looks like a cookie making session.
I could have made a batch of cookies, but since our air conditioning went out it just wasn't happening so I put everything back up.
These would not have made a very good post if I had just taken a picture of them sitting on the counter, now would they?
So I pulled out my vintage yellow ware bowl that I have had for thirty years or more and the other goodies and snapped some shots for you.
See what I do for y'all.
Thank you, Susan for thinking of me and sending me these wonderful measures.
If y'all have not visited her blog it is a must read and see. Be sure and check out several of her gorgeous rooms. You can check it out here and tell her I sent ya. K?
Now, I think I need to go make some cookies since the air works again.
Have a super duper weekend!
Kim,

ReplyDeleteKim, I agree, blogging friends are truly special souls. These copper measures are wonderful and a very thoughtful gift. We have two similar ones that I found years ago to add to my husband's Christmas stocking that year. He's the copper collector. One is large and the other small. Guess I'm missing that middle size. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry you were without AC.
How sweet and such a great gift. Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gift Kim. They'll look great on the kitchen counter top.

It's such a blessing to have someone who knows you so well that they can choose lovely things for you and know that they are PERFECT. I believe that people are drawn to those who are like them and it makes me smile that you two lovely ladies are in each others lives, and mine.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful Sunday.
