No, Not There

While Mr. Savvy was at Home Depot the other day he picked up a couple of extra thermometers. Not sure why. I think he put one in his garage and the other one landed where it doesn't belong.

Do you see it?

Now you can. That has been sitting there for three days now and it is still in the wrapper. I keep thinking he will move it to wherever it was meant to go because it sure isn't staying there.
You know what else? He still hasn't notice the repainted mantel yet.

While we are talking thermometers, this is a shot of the one outside the sun room in the shade today. That's 107 people. I know this heat has a grip on a lot of us.
I don't know about y'all, but this chick is staying in.
Well, I may shop. At least it is cool inside.

Stay cool!

LOL-Maybe that is your hubby's contribution for "mantle decorating". I think those guys are all alike- blind to change unless it is costing them money and we don't want them to spot it- xo Diana

That looks like the sort of 'decorating' that The Great Dane would do! As I sit here, I can see a big orange tape measure sitting on the sideboard.
No matter how you look at it, 107 is HOT! We won't even get to 80 this summer, I'm sure.

It was 109 in Athens and 107 here. Craziness. Cannot keep stuff watered and I do not water grass at all.

Lol - once when Mr. was travelling to Europe I had contractors come in and build me 3 long narrow niches in my dining room ( previous house ) with lighting - and then I painted the entire dining room black ( just in case you want to vomit there was a ton of white accent color with window trim and french door trims, lol ) anyways he only noticed the black paint - took him a week to notice the niches - which btw I lit every night.
They so don't get it!

What is it with men and their stupid thermometers? *sigh* I say since it is still in the package that you take it back to Home Depot and buy yourself some paint or whatever your little heart desires. I mean he must have bought an extra one and left it there for you to take back right? LOL

LOL, sometimes when my hubby does that with something, I leave it to see just how long he thinks it's going to sit where he put it. After about a week though I can't take it anymore and put it right smack in the middle of his desk. When I added the wood embellishment to the faux drawer panel under the kitchen sink, my hubby never said anything. Finally, a couple of months later, I said to him, "I can't believe you never even noticed I did that!". He said, "I noticed, but every time I come home there's something new going on".

We hit 97 today but the humidity made it feel like it was over 100! The kids stayed in the pool all day.

LOL! Hubby and I were just talking about the heat here...while it is hotter than we can remember, it didn't feel like it today. Guess the humidity wasn't what we Atlantans are used to!! Hot yes, sticky, not too bad. Now tomorrow may bring a different story!!

We hit 106 in Atlanta. I'm going crazy in this heat.

Too funny Kim! It would not have lasted 3 days in my lounge room. How rude! Hehe. Hubby never notices when I paint something now. He says everything is always a different colour or in a different place so he has given up. It's Winter in Australia, brrrr..... x Julie

haha! you were pretty kind to not pick it up and put it in the junk drawer..i bet he wouldn't notice either. Stay cool!

Kim it is a blazin hot here too. That is funny how the Mr. still has not noticed the fireplace yet. Mike would have noticed it the second her walked in. I mentioned something about painting the island the other day, and he almost had a cow. Oh well....Your piece in the guest room looks gorgeous red. I really LOVE that color.

Kim, I agree Hubby will need to find a new place for his thermometer. It just doesn't go with the decor. LOL It is hot here to. I hate to use my air, I feel all trapped and confined, I am a fresh air girl. Guess I will have to suffer with it on for a while longer, it looks like it may be a long hot Summer. It to my Hubby 2 years one time to notice we had new living room furniture. I also cut about 2 feet off my hair and he didn't notice. LOL Not the observant type.

You are so funny! Why, don't you like the new thermometer as an accessory for your mantel? Yesterday, Will and I went to the pool (late afternoon) and it was tolerable because the water was refreshing. Otherwise, I couldn't have stood it! I heard that the temps are supposed to get better next week though. Yay! My plants on my front porch got a good watering last night because they looked soooooo wilted from the heat. I felt drained last night from all the heat too. I agree.....shopping inside an air conditioned shop is a good idea!

Well we are at the opposite end of the spectrum for weather - cool and rainy. Too bad we couldn't balance out the weather. My hubby is the same way with things - can drive me crazy sometimes - lol :)

I'll tell ya for sure, MEN JUST DON'T GET IT !!!!
They have no concept of how easy it is to MESS UP a pretty mantel, table, sofa....ANYthing. Do they think everything just magically gets into the PRETTY MODE.? HAHAAAAA....my man just nearly drives me crazy.

TINA said...

LOL.....I don't know it adds a certain....uumm.....something to the mantle. You have to admit it is unique! Love the mantle.

Stay cool and have a great weekend.

I am always amazed how I have to point out changes around here, to Bob! He might notice a new sofa, but he'd never see subtle changes like your mantel. It's a "man thing"!

Kim...it is 103 here today...my poor hubby is outside grilling ribs...(company coming) ..but at least he is under a covered area...but it is still scorching....!!..

Now, as for noticing things...mine notices everything...so I do not know whether that is a good or bad thing!!...:) STAY COOL!!!
