Ironstone is very highly collectible and I have been oh so lucky to find good deals on it lately either at antique stores or on ebay. If you had mentioned ironstone to me a couple of years ago I would not have known what you were talking about. Oh, the joy of blogging and learning about new things. Awhile back it wasn't so easy to find the size pitchers I was looking for to fill my china cabinet in the dining room, but I recently have scored some deals.
I didn't get these all at one time. These have been ordered and coming in over the last several weeks.
I love the shape and scalloped edge of this one. It is by Carr China in Grafton, W. Va. There is a very interesting article here about the company and its demise.
This one is a T & G Meakin.
This is the smallest of the three. It has a great shape to the spout. It is by Turner Goddard.
This one came in later. This is a Mayer china piece and is a nice size milk pitcher.
If I find more I will have to figure out where they will go. This is getting pretty full.
Oh, the thrill of the hunt.
Have a super weekend!

Your collection of white ironstone is getting quite big! It looks beautiful displayed against that gorgeous blue background! I have been collecting white ironstone for many years....long before it was ever popular. My weakness is platters! LOL

That is an enviable collection! I wouldn't have known what ironstone was either, it makes me feel better to hear you say that. And I Looooooove the repainted bed. Such beautiful detail.
ReplyDeleteWhen it rain it pours...ironstone.:)It's all good!
ReplyDeleteClassic and beautiful! You have a great collection.
ReplyDeleteAngela
Your collection looks really beautiful, but call me naive. What is ironstone? I just heard of it for the first time the other day.
ReplyDeleteso pretty!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful, and I'm certain I've seen the very ones on e=bay! My collection is quite small and just getting started, but I LOVE the white ironstone. So great for summer!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your collection!

you might just need to add another hutch to display your growing collection...glad they arrived all in one piece!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection. They are all wonderful. Love your vignette. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat collection! I collect the white pitchers and at last count, I have about 50 of them. I have them in my kitchen, my dining room, and some in my living room. Oh yes...the thrill of the hunt!
ReplyDeleteKim, I'm a fan of white ironstone too. But you have to add that to my other ceramic loves as well ~ English transfer ware, French faience, majolica, MacKenzie-Childs ~ there aren't many ceramics that I don't like. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour collection looks great in your cabinet. I have my pieces here and there or grouped together on my sideboard occasionally. I move things around and in and out of storage.
Wonderful collection, Kimmie, and how nice they look in your cabinet.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Where did you get that runner? I love these pictures with the ironstone and the blue!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
karianne
This collection is stunning grouped together like that... but I've told you before, what I'm really lovin' are those yellow chairs that keep peeking out at me!
ReplyDeleteYour ironstone collection looks so nice group together in your hutch. I have a few pieces myself, that I love!
ReplyDeleteI love the various shapes and sizes in your collection. In Ohio I can still find it at thrift stores and yard sales. (I picked up a platter today for dollar.) It is not just the thrill of the hunt but the beautiful practicality of these hardworking pieces that are so appealing.
ReplyDeleteKim your collection is so pretty and all the layers of paint on your hutch can't be beat.
ReplyDeleteThese look great. I too was not familiar until I started reading about them on your posts. Now that you have shared, you may have just driven the prices up on ebay because several followers will be bidding against you now! Thanks for sharing as always.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection you have amassed in a short while, Kim. Beautiful and perfect against the painted cabinet. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteVery nice Kim, you certainly scored! =)

ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of white ware and ironstone for a long time Kim. Your display and new pieces are wonderful and like you, I am very fond of the old pitchers. I should actually use some of mine. LOL
ReplyDeleteI just revamped my old secretary where I house my pieces. I had some color in it but now it's all white. It's on my blog post list. I am heading out to yardsales now and maybe I'll be lucky and find a piece of wonderful old ironstone. Have a super great weekend! xo
So, what is the big deal about ironstone, anyway? I am new at all this. Is antique ironstone more collected than new?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scores, indeed! You truly are emassing quite the collection of ironstone, for sure!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. You really have a beautiful collection goint on. It ia amazing.

What a beautiful collection Kim! It sure looks fantastic in your hutch!
ReplyDeletebeautiful collection that looks amazing against the blue backdrop of your cabinet. I did love the green back you had on there too, but the blue is wonderful. I have only a few pieces of ironstone, both from my Grandma, but I treasure them =)
ReplyDeleteYour collection is beautiful! I did not know about Ironstone until I started blogging either. I just started my collection last weekend. I found a wonderful teapot, sugar and creamer at local antique store. There was another larger pitcher that I wanted, but it was $175... I just wasn't sure about spending that much until I researched to see if that was a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteI showed it to my husband though - maybe he will surprise me with it for my birthday. I can't wait to increase my collection. I am in love with this stuff :-)
Drooling! Great finds! I absolutely love them with that blue background!
ReplyDeleteSherry
What a gorgeous collection you have! I love the scalloped edge... so pretty.

ReplyDeleteYour collection is really beautiful. I have a thing for pitchers, and you're finding some great ones. Everything looks super in your "new" china cabinet.
ReplyDeleteBabs
They look great all together Kim. They are all so pretty in their design.
ReplyDeleteI can help you with that "where to go" problem ... they can go right to UPS and shipped right to me! Love those pitchers ...
