Help For Even This Old Skin

7.19.2012

I don't know about where you live, but it has been one hot summer. Along with the heat it has been mostly dry, too. Since I am the one who mows the yard that means getting very hot, sweaty and dirty.

I usually feel like Pigpen from the Charlie Brown cartoons when I get through cutting the grass. When it is dry the yard becomes a dust storm when I mow. Our yard is quite large and that means lots of dirt blowing up and all over me. The last time I cut the grass I also had to trim the tall weeds growing around the pond with the weed whacker. That meant some mud splattered up all over me, too. When I was through and saw my face in the mirror the only thing white was the whites of my eyes.

I was recently sent a new Dove product to try out, Dove Visible Care toning creme body wash. The shower is the first place I go when I finish the yard. I had the body wash and my sponge and I poured just a small amount on the sponge and gave the sponge a few squeezes. The body wash made the best luxurious lather. I started scrubbing my body and the it felt silky soft on my skin. It has a wonderful scent, too. The scent is usually one of the first factors when I am choosing a new soap to try. I stand in the store and open the lids and take in a whiff to see if it passes the test. Also to save money I try not to buy a bottle of liquid soap for me and a different one for my husband and the scent of this one will work for both of us.

After the first shower I noticed that the tops of my cheeks were just glowing in our bathroom lights. I thought wow, this stuff really works. I have been using this daily now for a couple of weeks and really do have visibly more beautiful skin and that is saying a lot for this old gal's skin. This body wash has the highest concentration of NutriumMoisture technology across the Dove portfolio.

It also feels really nice to use in the shower after my daily walks since I am trying to get this weight off. It is a struggle at my age, but I will continue doing it. When it is so humid out I get really sweaty. This body wash feels so good and refreshing to start each day.

You can find out more about this body wash and their other products by visiting their site.
I have always liked the Dove line and the way they advertise using real women with real body shapes.

  11. I don't know how you do the summers there Kim, whew I was at my daughters in May and couldn't take the humidity, it just zapped me of all energy, don't think I could be mowing those lawns, you've got way more energy than me!

  12. I can't believe you cut the lawn. That's one thing I won't do ~ sit on the lawn mower. Not sure why. You are a brave girl to do that! I already have my coupon for Dove and can't wait to try it out.

  13. OK, I am taking the hint and trying this soap. Fifth post so far I've read on Dove body washes. I actually have used Dove soap for years and tried one of the liquid soaps recently. Other than having a problem with the cap, I liked it. Mild scent too. I like the skin tightening promise so I will try it. xo

  14. I already use this and it works great, but I Dove needs to redesign the bottle. IT's VERY hard to get the last of it out and causes waste. It's too bad the contest is only open to bloggers :(.

  18. I always love hearing new product reviews. I'm not the outdoorsy one here, my husband loves to take care of the yard but we haven't had to mow since early June. Our grass is dead and I just hope it comes back and we don't have to sod the yard. I'm really picky about scents too. I can't stand anything "flowery" unless of course it is a real flower!

  19. Thanks for the product tip. I tend to let my hubby do the yard so maybe I should get this for him! Thanks

  22. What type of edger / weed wacker do you use? I do the grass, but leave the edging up to my husband (too heavy for me). I get tired of waiting for him to do it, though, so I'd like to find a light-weight edger for myself!
