My Daughter's Deal and Update

7.15.2012

How has your Saturday been? I had a great day. Got up early and drove down to my daughter's house to go with her and her friend to the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta. I came home with a couple of things that I haven't taken pics of yet, but I wanted to share what my daughter purchased. These are shots from her phone.

She spotted these two beautiful old cabinets and just fell in love. She didn't need two of them and she asked the vendor how much. When he replied $750 for the two my mouth literally fell open. She then asked if he would sell just one of them and he first said $395 and then came down to $350.

It has two sets of doors and two adjustable shelves inside. Heavy duty iron latches and hinges and two drawers on the bottom. It is solid pine. I think she got one heck of a deal. She and her hubby will go back tomorrow to pick it up. I can't wait to see it in her house.

Oh, and we really liked the solid copper milk can on top, too. I didn't even ask for a price, but it was nice.

After we left Scott's we went out for lunch in Decatur at The Brick Store Pub and had a really good lunch with mimosas. I had half a roast turkey sandwich with roasted peppers and gouda cheese on rye and a side salad of arugula with candied pecans, goat cheese and a lemon vinaigrette. Yum yum.
We then stopped at a nail salon and all got a pedicure. So it was a great girl's day out.
You just need those now and then.

This was my daughter and her friend's first time at Scott's. They may be hooked.

Hope your day was good!

Here is a new cabinet from Pottery Barn that I came across last night. Very similar to the above cabinet that my daughter found and this one sells for $1799. I bet it isn't all real wood either.

  21. That will be a fine piece for your girl Kim. Atlanta is only 2 hrs from both of our houses and we never go there because of the traffic but you are tempting me with Scotts.
