Where to Put It

I walked around the house trying to figure out where my vintage French house number sign was going. I tried leaning it in different spots and nothing was looking right. Then as I walked in the sun room it came to me.

I saw this wire basket and had a light bulb moment.

I attached it to the basket with some floral wire I had on hand.

It fits perfectly and I love the way it looks.

Now I can enjoy this every day in the room I spend the most time in.

It looks great there!!! I am a master at telling MyHero "where to put it" when he is aggravating me...mostly the sentence ends in the words "where the sun don't shine". xo Diana

Looks great. As others have mentioned todays post heading, I've had my fair share of telling someone "where to put it" on a bad day.

I love the sign but you are covering up the stenciling on the basket that is pretty.

Kim, I have a question for you: what color of white should I paint my oak stained wood trim? It is all over my house; cabinets built in, trim, doors. Where do I start and is this a good idea as the wood is oak and is prized for its hard wood. But it is dark and dated and my husband has given me the go ahead. WE will be doing the work ourselves so I need your advice please.

All the best,

♥charlotte

So glad to see your post. I just won a sign like yours. I got to choose the number. Since we don't use a house number at the ranch (no one even knows what it is except me), and we will be moving from our city house in a few years, I wondered what number I should choose. In the end, I chose the year we got married, and I plan to just display it inside. Thanks for the inspiration. I saw that mine if I bought it would have cost a hundred dollars, so you got a good deal on yours.

Dear Kim,
Oh, the fun of a treasure scouting walk! There are two kinds of these walks, the shop-your-home-for-a-treasure-to-move-to-a-new-spot walk and the-find-the-perfect-spot-for-my-new/old-treasure walk. They are both delicious adventures and are wonderful exercise!

I love the sign and the spot you found.
Enjoy!

Once you live with it for a while you will find various perfect places for the sign (in addition to the current perfect place). That is what makes the hunting and gathering process so much fun!
