A Place to Chill

8.13.2012

How was your weekend? We started off  very muggy and had a few rain storms, but Sunday was glorious with sunny clear skies and low humidity. In fact it was 58 degrees at 7 a.m. which is a bit unheard of for August, but I'll take it. I worked out in the yard all day and it really made me long for fall. The humidity and higher temps are scheduled to return tomorrow, but this was a nice break.

I found this vintage fishing (?) basket (that is what the tag said) at Scott's last month for a much better price than most I have seen so I snatched it. I knew it was the right size to use next to the chair and ottoman in the master bedroom. When there is nothing on t.v. worth watching I can come in here, put my legs up and look at books and magazines. We don't have a t.v. in our master.

The basket is the perfect height to use as a side table for my favorite reading materials.

Here is a look at it without the accessories.

The buckle is broken, but that's okay. I like to be able to open easily if I ever need to grab a stored throw.

I have been enjoying this new book by my favorite designer, Charles Faudree.

A comfy chair,

 some pretty flowers,

and a good light are all that is needed to just chill.

After all, isn't that what our bedroom is for?

The basket was only $65 where as most were hundreds. I love when I hold out for a much better price and then strike gold.

  1. What a great find Kim, and it looks perfect in your bedroom! You have to love when something is useful AND beautiful, and that basket is both! We had a tiny break from the heat too, fingers crossed it stays around for awhile.

  3. Very Cozy and beautiful spot to study that wonderful book. I LOVE those baskets and have a few myself. I have a small one that I use a ribbon instead of the buckle strap.
I LOVE your arrangement. Charles would be proud of you!

  7. It's perfecto in that spot! I have a weakness for baskets, your pretty one does double duty as a side table so it's as useful as it is beautiful.

I hope you'll link it up to Cowgirl Up! tonight..
