My Favorite Room Series.....Dixie Delights

8.31.2012

I'm Amanda from Dixie Delights and I am crazy happy to be over here at Kim's sharing my favorite room today!!

Our two month old porch addition is undoubtedly the baby of our forty-four year old house but it absolutely my favorite "room" of the lot!

We use this space from sun up till waaaaay past sun down - having coffee, dining, playing games, reading, listening to music, cocktailing, entertaining, roasting s'mores and watching the littles run wild in the yard.  If we had room for a bed we'd be sleeping out here.

And in a house where we've worked terribly hard to make it our own, it was wonderfully luxurious to start with a sketch on paper and build it from the ground up.  Every light, every board, every thing being just as we wanted it.

I truly love this house with all my heart - it's a long story, but I knew it would be mine the first time I ever laid eye on it.  This porch is just the cherry on top!  (see even more of the porch here)

xoxo,
Amanda

  3. Thanks, Kim, for the porch tour. Kimmie- your porch is beautiful and blends so well with the exterior of your home. What a great space and decorated so nicely. I might have to borrow the labelled jars for game pieces idea for our basement. I have two little jars with chess pieces and dice, but the labels and decks of cards are something I can use.

  4. What a fantastic porch!!! If I lived there, that would be my favorite room too. The fireplace is such a wonderful feature out there too. I love the decor too. It's simple and uncluttered with serene colors, just as a porch should be so you can relax. That would be a great place to entertain too!

  19. Kim, this is by far my favorite yet, but I think I am biased. Amanda has great style and taste. She is what I consider a "super woman"--- mom, wife, employee, and much more! She does everything wonderfully. Thanks for picking Amanda. She is the reason I started blogging.
