Crazed and Stained

9.29.2012

My latest ironstone find is a beauty. It is full of wonderful crazing and dark stains. She wears her aging imperfections well. Dark spots look good on her. Me, not so much. wink

Isn't she a beaut? Not bad for forty dollars. I am running out of room, but when I see ironstone I gasp and have to look at it and then it will probably end up coming home with me. I need a bigger cupboard. Maybe some day I will come across a nice Welsh cupboard.
Sigh.....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  3. A lovely piece for your collection, Kim. I saw some great pieces at an outdoor Antiques show today but the prices were way out of my budget. It made me appreciate so many of my finds though.

  5. It's a gorgeous addition to your collection Kim.

I'm turning a little vintage and it's not nearly as cute on me as it is on my thrift store finds! Why is that?

You have to wonder about the history of these pieces. It feels good to cherish something someone in the past held dear. It looks lovely against the blue!
