Dough Bowls, Grain Sacks, and Much More

Let's continue with more pictures of what we saw at the Country Living Fair. There are lots of pictures so get comfy. You can see the first part here if you missed it.

Need your fortune read? This was in a gypsy decorated camper. The picture of the outside accidentally got deleted.

This was a western themed camper.

They had cotton bolls there, of course.

This was a gorgeous old peach orchard ladder. I just don't have a place for one.

Loved this unusual scale, but not the price.

$26 for these old enamelware pails.

This vendor had a lot of nice collectibles. These demijohns were all $48.

The dough bowls were huge and very very heavy. They were all the fabulous price of $98 no matter what the size. I was so tired by this time I couldn't even imaging carrying one of these to the car.

Would love to have had one of these vintage German sleds. Would be great to decorate for Christmas.

Towards the end of our long day we came upon the mother load of grain sacks. Shirley recognized the vendor who she had seen at a similar fair in N.C. in the spring. The vendor is from Austria and she had the best prices. ALL her grain sacks were $45 each. There were all different colors.

She also had these fabulous chairs.

She also sold by the yard.

My loot from the fair except for the quilt. Shirley and I stayed till after four and then went back to my favorite antique mall that we had gone to on Friday. There was a fabulous piece there that I had to go back to look at and see if I wanted to make an offer.
Here is a peek.
I already miss Shirley. Can't wait to do it again.
Hope you are staying warm where you are. Cold, cloudy and windy here today.
Sure glad we went yesterday.
Have a super duper week!

Hi Kim, I must say I can't decide if I am in awe of this adventure or a bit green-what a great but exhausting time you had. So many things I saw I'd love but then saw the prices. To meet Cari too-wow. I love antiques and looking for treasures but bet I would have been so tired. Thank you so much for sharing.

What a great day you had! I'm sure that some of the prices are inflated for the fair, but with that many vendors you're bound to find what you want at a price that works.

Kim,

This looks like a fabulous adventure! I love all of your finds and I love some of the things you did not get.

In the thick of the storm, the rain and wind are terrible. 65 mPH guests as I type this. I hope the house and the trees and we survive.

Have a great week, looking forward to lots more photos.

Great buys, Kim. Love the white pitcher and sugar bowl. I had heard the prices could be a bit much at the Country Living Fair when I was considering going here in Ohio in September. Those trailers look like a lot of fun. We've got the same weather here, I don't mind the cooler air, but was hoping for some sun.

SHERRY HART said...

I wanted to go so bad but was just too tired from the shelter install! Looks like you scored some good stuff!!

Jeannine said...

It's probable that someone would've been injured, likely me, as I pushed, prodded, jumped and tripped my way to that pile of dough bowls that even now is still taking my breath away!
I've been hunting one of those for ages, and $98 no matter the size is about to send me over the edge!!! I must back away from the computer now, as the jealousy towards anyone who got to actually pick through that pile is really unchristian of me... ugh!!

Just looking was like being in grain sack heaven. You're my kind of girls to go hit a antique mall after spending the whole day at the event shopping!

Kathy said...

Wow looks like fun, what a perfect fall day, I just got home to heavy rain...we had such good weather back east..so now all good things must come to an end. Loved the picture of you!

Bliss said...

The amount of stock each vendor had of the same item was amazing. Sometimes I can go places and see one or none of some of those things and they had 25 or more. And that scale, cute for sure and that price, wow.
