Prepping For Guests

With the holidays quickly approaching it is time to think about making a comfortable space for your guests. It used to be that when I had overnight guests coming or just a holiday get together I would get all stressed about having to have the house PERFECT. Well, I still want a nice clean and presentable home, but I don't go bonkers anymore on making it perfect. Well, maybe a little bonkers. They say wisdom comes with age and I guess it does.

Here are some essentials for overnight guests to make their stay enjoyable.

You should always put out fresh towels. Other things that are nice is bottled water or a nice carafe with a glass and fresh flowers are an extra nice touch.

Ice cold water in this chilled server is really nice.

Be sure to decorate sparingly and leave room for your guests to place their things by the bed. Offer some reading material, too and good lighting.

Make a place in the closet and drawers for their things. Now my closets are in bad shape and I must clean them out, but I can make room for things to hang. I need to clean out and take things to Good Will again.

Making a comfortable bed is important. Best to offer a variety of pillows such as a couple firm or medium and a couple of soft ones. I do press my cotton sheets for my guests especially if it is not a family member. My family members don't really care. You should offer light and heavy blankets or quilts.

Be sure to have plenty of bathroom necessities on hand such as toilet paper so your guests don't have to ask for it. It is nice to also have soaps, toothpaste, extra toothbrushes, and other toiletries just in case your guests forget something.

I have a special guest coming this weekend and the room is all ready. I will share who soon.
It is a fellow blogger. We will be joining other bloggers at the Country Living Fair on Saturday.
I can't wait! This will be my first time going.

My special guest will not tell who she is. Shhhhhh.

How do you prepare for guests?

get ready for guests.

I'm so envious you'll be going to the fair! I would definitely be there if I had not already committed to service work in our community this weekend. Hope you'll post pictures next week!

I provide flowers from my flower garden on the bedside table and in the bathroom. I try to keep the guestroom ready but such is not the case always. Have fun at the Country Living Fair. I am missing it again. But I am seeing my daughter-better for me. xo, olive
