In The Kitchen

This is the time of year that most of us will be spending lots of time in our kitchens. I haven't shown mine in quite some time and there have been some little changes with more of my vintage finds being added. So I thought I would share what it has looked like before the Christmas stuff comes out.

view coming in from garage

My next big project is to paint these beat up black cabinets. You can see how worn the top of this cabinet door is due to opening it so much to put our trash in there.

This is a fall arrangement I threw together several weeks ago. Soon it will be time to add Christmas.

You can see how I transformed this cow head here.

I don't have a clue where Mr. Savvy got this meat grinder from, but he has had it forever.

Some changes have been made on top of the cabinets.

My copper collection has been growing.

Got the top vintage copper mold from One Kings Lane months ago to add to my collection.

This is probably the last time to see the cow canvases. They have been replaced again and I will share what with soon.

Now get in that kitchen and bake.

Kim...I was so fortunate to see your kitchen in person....the pictures are beautiful of all the wonderful things and vignettes you have...but I must say it is more magnificent in person!!....Your attention to detail is amazing and your collections require a tissue...a tissue to wipe the drool off faces!!
Can't wait to see the new addition in the breakfast room!!

I love your kitchen. Will you repaint the cabinets black again? Do you like the two toned look? I really like it in your space. I'm thinking of going with red and cream for my kitchen cabinets.

Those poor cows, Kim. : ) Can't wait to see what you've put in their place. I'm looking forward to seeing your decorations, too. It's nice to see the change that is made when Christmas decor is added in.

Hi Kim, Everything looks fabulous! I love the cow prints but I know you hate it when we whine about keeping something where it is :-) Happy Thanksgiving!

Love your kitchen Kim, it is so bright and cheery. The cow hand towel is so unique, I love it. I had black cabinets in my last house. I loved the look, but felt like I was constantly dusting them. So I went with a dark blue, almost black and that wasn't much better. I like how distressed your are, you could certainly get away without any touch ups.

Your country french collections look great in there. I forgot what you were going to replace the cow canvases with. You'll have to remind me. I'm sure your kitchen will be buzzing later this week with your grand kids coming to visit too!

Love your kitchen. We just got new granite countertops and a new granite sink, it looks just like yours! One quick question. I painted my island black and was just wondering if yours is distressed and if so, do you like it? I am debating on whether or not to distress. Otherwise I am so loving it.

I love your collection of copper pots and pans and that cow head--cool! Also love the tea towel that shows all the parts of a cow. When I was growing up on a farm, I was in 4-H, and I had my bedroom closet door covered with a cow poster just like that, and one for lambs and pigs, so I could learn the names of all the different parts!
