No Painting Required

When I shared my pretend table setting the other day I was wondering if anyone would notice a slight change in the room and a couple of you did. I also kind of knew if anyone was very observant it would be Martina. Yep, she did see my change. She always notices anything new in my home.

Do you see anything different?

Here is a before shot. See the change now?

Yes, the frames have changed.

I decided to give these cheap gold frames from Hobby Lobby an antiqued black finish.

This was such an easy and quick project using this Gilders Paste in black. There was no painting at all.  I just used the small brush and brushed the paste on each frame. That's it. Best part they were instantly ready to go back on the wall.

I like that no two are alike and the look changes depending on how the light is hitting them or from what position you are looking at them.

I'm really loving the antique look.

Have a super Saturday.

When living in San Diego I came across those very same lithographs (literally a book of them) and I held on to them for a long time...never hanging up..and my daughter Ryan took them and framed some beautifully just like yours...

Kim, the dark color really makes them pop against the wall color. I think you made the right choice there. They turned out fantastic.

I've never heard of that paste. They do look great but I'm not observant enough to have picked out the change! Probably because they looked great both ways!

I finally did a post last night. Painted the master bedroom and bathroom. Even painted the sink/counter!

One of the things I like the most about your dining room are the color of the chairs and the way they look against the table. Now I also really like the color of the frames against the wall.
