We are going to venture upstairs now and visit one of the guestrooms. A couple months ago when I went to the Country Living Fair with my good blogging buddy, Shirley, I found a couple of vintage items and knew exactly how I was going to use them in my Christmas decorating.
Shirley and I both brought home an enamel bucket. I tucked in this little tree and red burlap that I had and stuck my lifesaver rings on for ornaments.
The quilted star pillow was another cute find from the fair and it goes so well in this room. I love how it looks with the very worn quilt I picked up last summer.
These rings are curtain rings that I painted red stripes on last year and they can be used as napkin rings, too.
For a fun touch I stuck one of the rings on this little dog.
I love these ticking striped flannel sheets from LL Bean and have them in three colors now.
I don't think I have shown y'all my canvas I had made from a picture I took on Martha's Vineyard back in October of a seagull in the fog. I love how it turned out.
I always have fun decorating this room.
Love the tree in the bucket and the lifesaver rings are just perfect. Great star pillow too. I agree, the striped sheets are so pretty. Lovely room. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteIt's all so pretty, I could move right in. Beautiful guest room, I bet they never want to leave. I really like the red, white, and blue theme it can be used in so many ways for every season.

ReplyDeleteKim, it does look like a fun room to decorate! Your guests must love staying in there. The painted curtain rings are brilliant...such a perfect touch. I may use that idea in my younger son's nautical themed room. Just adorable! I always enjoy seeing those red checked curtains too!

I love this room, Kim. The added touches of Christmas are perfect for a guest room. I kept mine simple, since my son will be back for Christmas and he tends to have his stuff all over the place.

Kim, I love this room and LOVE LOVE LOVE the tree in the enamel bucket. By the way Kim, you'll never guess what I found at Goodwill today....a shiny white plastic cow head on a plastic plaque!! I had to search your blog to see how you transformed yours because the one I bought today needs a make-over too....LOL. Hope you are having a wonderful day, Gail
ReplyDeleteLove it! I look forward to having a guest room again one day! They stay so nice looking! LOVE the patchwork fabric star on the bed too!
ReplyDeleteI rarely have anyone in my guest room (although my dad will be here after Christmas). So, it tends to get the gifts for upcoming holidays, the ironing board, the suitcases waiting to be packed...and so on. After seeing yours...I want to throw everything away in there and start over. I am also going to immediately move my little brush tree to one of my white pitchers!

Thanks again!
Kim, this room is perfect! It could grace the cover of Country Living! It truly is a vintage room! You did a perfect job styling it with all of the little details right down to the red and white napkin ring on the dog. You did a fabulous job on the lamp. I'd like to try finishing and old clock like that but have no idea how to do it. This room is the pefect guest room. In fact, it's so nice you might have to kick the guests out because they might not want to leave!
