The Second Big Project of 2012

The second big project that was done at the start of 2012 was the powder room. This was worked on at the same time as the sun room. I am a glutton for punishment. I had been longing to have bead board in this room and I finally got it. This post was also my third most viewed with over 8,000 views since 1/23 and I want to thank all of you who come back again and again to view my shenanigans.

First picture is how it looked with a faux wall treatment that I did years ago to cover up the mess the walls were in when I removed the wallpaper. Faux was in then. Don't you love the gold?
Second pic is after I worked on the walls some in order to update with a solid color and lose the faux.
Third is the addition of the bead board wallpaper which was a much easier and cheaper alternative to the real stuff.

I was honored to have our tiny powder room makeover shared in the June 2012 issue of Cottages and Bungalows magazine makeovers edition.

Oh, and let's see just how many times I can change what hangs on the wall over the toilet!

Yes, that's right the ever changing wall. What can I say, but I get ideas in my head and then I change things. If I didn't I wouldn't have much to blog about. Bet you can't wait to see what hangs here next.

Today Mr. Savvy and I are going to go find me a new laptop so we can use it on our taxes this year since my driver may crash soon, then grocery shopping which we both hate to do, but I like it a little bit better when we do it together.

Have a super Sunday!

  1. I love your bathroom Kim! I had done the same faux treatment in our bathroom as well with the gold, loved it back then, how funny. When the bathroom burned down the joke was I just wanted a updated bathroom. (you can joke about it when everyone is safe) Can't wait to see what you accomplish in 2013, I know it will be fabulous. Happy New year!

  7. LOL I like all three ways you had/have your powder room!

I think your powder room looks twice the size, and how awesome to be featured in a magazine, such an honour - and WELL deserved.
