The Tree

I am so glad to have gone to a table top tree this year. Well, actually it is a 4.5 foot tree on top of a table. So much easier to decorate and I love the way it turned out. It is going to be so much easier to put away. I stuck in some large greenery and fruit picks then added the ornaments.

When I first decorated the tree I added these large cones on the table until I had the gifts to place under it.

Now the gifts are wrapped and waiting to be opened. I just covered the table in burlap and the plaid tree skirt that I bought on clearance at the PB outlet in the kid's section last year.

Large vintage market baskets hold most of the gifts.

It's down to crunch time now. I still have one gift to wrap, baking to start today, and more house cleaning to do.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Your ornaments are wonderful and I did something very similar w/ both my trees this year, also. Instead of the traditional tree topper I used dried stems and faux gold berries. I would love if you would link your tree up to our party. It just went live.

Merry Christmas!

Kim, your tree is beautiful and I agree a table top version is so much easier and handy. I will not be posting my tree this year, the boys decorated it and it is horrible. They stood back from the tree and threw the lights at it, wherever they landed is where they left them. It is to much work to undo a 20ft tree, so I will have to live with the embarrassment this year and not ask them to do it next year.

Love, Love, Love your display and tablecloth/tree skirt. I haven't used a full size tree in some years now and did'nt even use my 4ft this year because I'm preparing to move. Needed simple this year. I use a basket also for my gifts. You always decorate so beautifully Kim, Merry Christmas

I've never had a tabletop tree, Kim, but yours just might make me a convert! Your tree is lovely - the crowning glory of the decorative posts you've offered.

I love how that looks! I particularly like the plaid mixed with the burlap. I also like the baskets filled with presents. That's a great alternative to a large tree.

Love the table top tree, I think I'm going to look for one of these for my kids next year. The basket with the gifts in it is such a great idea - especially if you aren't hosting Christmas you can just stick the basket in the car to bring to the party. I'm off to hunt for a basket now :)

It looks beautiful Kim. I love the smaller trees. You pop them up and they have just as much impact, for half the pain in the butt. LOL. I have a big, fake tree and it is a beast. This looks perfect!! I like the vintage looking "Santa face" wrapping paper. Too cute. I better get to my last minute stuff too ;) Shannon
