Vintage Trophy......Ebay Win

When I first saw this beauty on Ebay I gasped and had to check her out further. I had never seen one quite like this and the price it was at so far was very good so of course I had to bid on her. I get so competitive when someone outbids me and then I have to bid more. Thank goodness it didn't go to high and I WON!

How could I not want her? Just look at those curves.

And she is inscribed and has some wear, but you would too if you have been around since 1910.

She is even sporting frilly little bows.

Now she is here where she belongs on my French vaisselier and among some other silver pieces.

This is also a trophy that I have had even though I don't think of this one as a trophy since it doesn't have a base and arms.

This isn't a trophy, but is silver, tarnished and engraved.

This one normally resides in the other room with the others, but is hanging out on the mantel for awhile.

Soon they will all be back together when I put the other trophy back in here in place of the seltzer bottle.

The inscription on the new trophy reads:

Awarded
to
John Blunck
for
Most Premiums
Farmer's Festival
Withee, 1910

Not sure what that means. Maybe some of you do.

She is wonderful and has aged beautifully. A brand new version of her would not be half as pretty.

She's a beauty! I've never paid attention to trophies before but hmm. . . And I had to laugh at your eBay competitiveness. I can relate! The very first item I bid on ended up being a rather expensive bowl because I just HAD to win :)

Oh pretty pretty lucky girl! Those things usually go over my spending limit lol. I think it means he sold the most insurance premiums. Not sure how long Farmers Ins has been around but maybe that was the company he worked for. If not it makes a great story lol

Love the trophy!! What would you consider a "reasonable" price for a beautiful trophy like this one?? I've never bought one and would like to keep my eye open for one without paying too much. Thanks!!

Hi Kim!!!

Love your trophy!! She really shows well with all those curves going on. The other two pieces look great as well.

I'm guessing (I haven't read the other comments so I hope this isn't a repeat) that he sold the most insurance premiums at the farmers festival.

I'm the same way with Ebay.
