Do You Ever?

Do you ever go through a store just casually strolling the aisles not really knowing what the heck you are looking for and then you see something you like?

Then you stand there and ask yourself where can I use it?

When you first spied it it was pretty, but you knew it could look even better with a little tweaking.

So after you finally decide to buy it you then get out your paint about a week later to pretty it up.

Because you knew with just a little dab of paint that the planter would be so much prettier.

But then after you have it looking much better and brighter you still walk around through different rooms in the house trying it here and trying it there still not sure where it will end up.

Then you set it on the breakfast table that you thought it would be too small on and realize that with the addition of a vintage grain sack it looks pretty darn good and simple.

Yea, do you ever do that?

Planter found at Home Goods for a whopping $10. Yep, could not pass it up.

  2. All too often! My girls leave for school in the morning and ask, "Mom, is the house going to look the same when we get home?!" It is like a game when they get home: "Find what Mom changed or added today?!" Life to the full, Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle

  3. Absolutely! Things always follow me home, and the fun part is finding a spot for them and tweaking them just a little! The planter is adorable, and perfect with the textured grain sack. Cute!

  5. Yep!!...always!!...Before Annie Sloan Paint I passed up on many things because the color was not wright...but now it is a simple fix...love, love the planter...looks great on the table with the grain sack...some days I can take one "thing" and try placing it in in many areas, before it finally lands somewhere...then it moves to another place the next week!...

  7. I think if you see something you really like you should get it, you will find a place for it. If you think about it & go back, it's never there!

  15. I do that all the time. My husband says it can take me hours to decide where to put one picture, basket, whatever.. but I have this need to find the p-e-r-f-e-c-t spot! I can so relate!

  16. lol Don't we ALL do that?? My husband just rolls his eyes when he sees me carrying something from room to room. When my kids and grandkids come over the first thing they do is scan the rooms to see what's new and where. You tweaked your purchase nicely and looks beautiful where it is.

  24. You totally nailed it Kim!! I love it when it works out like this. Sometimes, I paint the whatever and it still doesn't look good, but then I can't return it. The good news is that your rose planter is beautiful.

  38. Kim, yes, yes, and more yes! Immediately, when I laid eyes on your post and saw it, I felt it was "drop dead gorgeous" as the mysterious "they" say! While you were asking or saying areas you might use it, I thought of it on a gorgeous bath vanity! The question is now where would it not look gorgeous? I love it. Thanks for sharing it and hosting WOW! Helen

  42. I think the real question is, have I ever gone into a store, ANY store...department, crafts, hardware, cooking, etc. and NOT found something that I like?

    ReplyDelete
  43. All the time....I love when you find a bargain and all it needs is a little paint here and there and it looks like a million bucks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seriously? You just added some ASCP Old White? What a difference a little paint can make. Did you just dab it in here and there in the crevices? Or something more complicated? What's the material, cement? Or Resin? You amaze me Kim, with your eye for potential. Well done!
