Springifying

3.30.2013

The spring bug hit me a few weeks ago when it actually began to feel like spring. Guess that was just a tease. It has been cold on and off the last few days, but I am sure it will warm up soon. I decorated the sideboard in the foyer a few weeks ago since this is the first thing you see when you enter the house.

I pulled this urn out of my stash and filled it with flowers, eucalyptus and moss for a simple look.

See the eggs? I don't normally decorate for Easter, but thought I would add just a couple things to this vignette. Then I remembered a few other things I had......

like this bunny I have had for years. I mean lots and lots of years. I now use it in the crib for the grand kids, but Leila wants no part of it so I have to remove it when she takes a nap.

Just look at that face. How could she not like her.

She even holds a little teddy.

Then back to the way it looks without the added bunnies and eggs.

I like keeping it simple for spring. Spring is a time to renew.

Hope you have a wonderful Saturday and good weather for those Easter egg hunts.

  7. Kim, your Spring Vignette looks so lovely. That little bunny is really cute. Isn't it funny the way children look at things in life a certain way and have their own ideas about it? You may know that I take care of our youngest grand during the week while my daughter works and she is a "hoot." She has gotten to where she won't go upstairs by herself because she says we have a "Headless Horseman" up there. It happens that when I dressed up my dress-form with an outfit so that it wouldn't look so bare when not in use for sewing and she thinks it looks scary that way with no head and a dress. Guess I should strip it down again. Well, I have some things up there from the Easter Bunny, so maybe it has been a good thing lately! Have a blessed weekend!

  8. Happy Easter to you and yours Kim.
Laughing at the fact that Leila want Miss Bunny removed. Kids... they all their own little thoughts and ideas, luv it!
Agreed... Spring time is the time for renewal and rebirth. I do not decorate Easter either. I have a found nest with 2 faux eggs under glass in the foyer and that's pretty much it. But that is Spring time to me... the decor is lightened up somewhat.
Luv the white urn with grasses... We are promised temperatures in the 80 for this weekend. Wooo Hooo!!!! But I wait...

  20. A lovely spring vignette, Kim. That is a gorgeous sideboard and I love the dark stained top with the dark stained mirror. The green (Majolica?) plates are pretty colours. The urn with simple greenery is a lovely reminder of the new growth we will see soon. Happy Easter!

  23. This post was absolute perfect timing for me Kim! The buffet table in my breakfast area is "naked" and I've been struggling between filling it up and simplifying and yours is the perfect balance. It's gorgeous! I'm off with renewed energy and inspiration to tackle mine now! :-)
