Rest of the Sun Room

5.06.2013

Hope your weekend went well. I thought we were going to have to call out the coast guard with all this rain. We actually saw the sun for a bit Sunday afternoon, but rain is not far behind again.

With all the rain I did a lot of sitting in here.

Last week I shared this chest makeover and showed where it sits between the two chairs in the sun room.

Several of you asked what happened to this table that was here before so I thought I would share the rest of what the sun room looks like now.

The table just moved to the corner and I moved the brown table out.

Here is where the dog pillow from the old nautical guest room moved to that many of you inquired about.

I brought back out the brightly colored floral pillows for the warmer months and mixed them with the vintage grain sack pillows that were already here.

I love when all the leaves are back on the trees out back. I feel like I'm in a tree house when I look out.

This vintage grain sack is filled with two standard pillows and is just lying on the bench seat.

The fiddle leaf fig is growing like crazy.

The striped pillow covers were also brought out of storage. Found them at Pottery Barn last year.

After looking at this photo I decided the rug needed to go. It is the wrong size for the space.

For now I have a bare floor until I can purchase a rug the right size.

I changed out the lamp on the drop leaf table to my vintage demijohn with a light kit added and a shade from Pottery Barn.

The cow art that was above the sofa has been replaced with the Lake Rabun sign that was in the nautical guest room. Using it along with the dog in the boat pillow gives a summer vibe in here.

The roe deer antler trophies were removed above the windows on the right, too and moved to another location. You can see the cow art and the antlers that were here before here.

Miss Bailey in her daily napping spot.

Hope y'all have a fabulous week!

  4. Looks wonderful Kim. The addition of the chest is great.

I can actually see a little bit of blue sky this morning. We will need to hurry and do the outdoor stuff today and tomorrow. Rain to return Wed. Guess that proves, be careful what we wish for.:-)

  20. Your sunroom looks so fresh and bright! I love all of the pretty pillows. I'm envious of your rain, though, it completely missed us. I spent the weekend running the sprinkler :( We are still so behind on rainfall and everything is already dry again.

  22. My favorite place to nap is in my porch. It needs some dusting because it's 3 season so in the Winter it becomes our walk in cooler. Maybe I'll dust then nap.

  23. I was wondering if some of the nautical things would be in here for summer. It all looks so pretty, fresh and SO inviting. I hope the sun comes out for you, we will be getting the rain tomorrow and for 3 more days they say. But we do need it . I love the demijohn lamp, may have to copy that idea:) I have an imitation one...... Have a great week, Kim. XO, Pinky

  30. Yes, Miss Bailey's a doll! I really like the dresser in the sun room. Great updates as always! It's grey here as well. Just two hours away, we're getting snow in the Sierra's! Yes, and it was in the 90's here last week. It's all pretty typical for May.
    Enjoy your week!,
