I wasn't going to share some great news I got this week because I didn't want it to come across that I am bragging. I really am not a braggy person, but I think since I share so much of myself and my home on this blog that I should share the accomplishments, too.
I was just casually looking through my emails last Wednesday and noticed the bi-weekly features from houzz.com was in my inbox. I always look forward to these and enjoy getting some inspiration from the features and especially from the Houzz tours. A few months ago I shared with y'all that I was contacted by one of the editors for houzz.com asking to come shoot my house and interview me for my home to be featured in one of these Houzz tours. I couldn't believe it and of course said yes and later a local freelance writer/photographer for Houzz came to my house and took the pictures and interviewed me. Later the work was published and it was exciting to see it on houzz.com in one of those bi-weekly features. Well, long story short, when I opened up last Wednesday's features there was a feature that the Houzz tours had reached a milestone of featuring 1,000 homes and listed the top ten most popular out of those 1,000. Here is the same tour I opened up on Wednesday with my morning coffee in hand. I can assure you that I just about spit coffee all over my laptop and across the room! Just click on the picture and you will see the same thing I did.
It was a blast having my home featured, but I do wish the photos weren't over saturated. I can assure you that the comments left on this feature are certainly not all positive, but that's okay. It is what it is and I am still in shock! One comment that the person thought would be negative is that it is too homey. Hey, that is exactly how I want my home to feel. :)
