Summer Changes

8.22.2013

It hasn't really felt like summer much here this year, but I thought I would show you how I changed out the bedding and a few things again in the green guest room for summer before fall gets here and I change it again.

I almost got rid of this bedding, but hung on to it. I love bed linens and changing them seasonably or just for the heck of it. It is an easy way to refresh a room.

These are the lamps that were in the master bedroom before I got the new lamps from the Restoration Hardware outlet.

The only new thing in this room is this little clock that was meant for the master, but it didn't light up enough at night for us to see it. We're getting so old. :)

Another one of the lamps that was in the master before that makeover has landed here.

This is the little chair that was in the foyer by the stairs. I will probably paint it soon.

Changing just the duvet and pillow shams out was so simple since all the rest of the bedding worked with this pattern, too. You can see what was on the bed before here and I still love that bedding, too.

Even the crib got a little fluffin when not in use. Leila always says "no pillows, Grammy" when it's nap time.

And like the pillow says "good night".

Reservations anyone?

Everything I used was shopped from the house. I have had the bird bedding for years and almost all the bedding is from Pottery Barn.

Hope you will come back tomorrow for another fabulous favorite room.

  2. Poor Leila. Is she confused everytime she goes into her room that it looks different? :)

  5. Well of course you will paint that chair...because you are a painting machine. It wasn't a great summer here, either. I love the fresh lighter look.

  6. I don't twitter. I don't really have a need for it and I definitely don't need something that will have me spending more time on the computer! LOL

You don't need a clock in your room now that you have your iphone. Easy to see. I have mine on my nightstand and hubby uses his as his alarm.

  12. Such a beautiful room! Someday, when the kids are out of the house, I will have a guest room again. :)

Welcome to Twitter! Although I don't know exactly why I'm saying that because I do have an account but I'm hopelessly stupid at it, so I don't even ask people to follow me on it anymore. When you figure it out, let me know! lol

    Happy Thursday, Kim!

  27. That room looks so nice, Kim. I rally like the overall base color of the room. Did I miss that rabbit print before? Did you have that somewhere else because for some reason (maybe I'm getting old) I don't remember it. LOVE what I can see of it- xo Diana

  30. The bedroom looks fabulous, I love the soft wall colour and the bird fabric is so pretty. I have just about completed my guest bedroom, hopefully the reveal will be in a weeks time. I now think I might have done overkill on my pillows. I originally had three made to sit in front of the actual sleeping ones. Then my girlfriend added two from my living room which look great but now seeing yours I think maybe too much. I will have to decide before I write up the post. I think you have just the right amount of pillows going on there.

  35. Dang! Shirley already has first dibs on the guest room for October! Your room looks so inviting. I've been working on our guest room redo for ages. Everything is on a rush now due to guests expected in 2 weeks!

  36. Such a charming room! I love the bird bedding. Really pretty. I like the little clock too. I want to replace our digital alarm clock radio with something vintage looking like yours, but the tick, tick, tick sound keeps me awake. Does anyone know where I can get an old looking alarm clock that's silent?

  37. Oh, I adore that bird bedding, too! I bet you can't even get it anymore... What a gorgeous guest room.
