Instagram Snaps.....The Pumpkin Patch

9.21.2013

Last Saturday my daughter, granddaughter Leila and I drove up to the north Georgia mountains to go to the pumpkin farm to buy some pumpkins. Of course I took some snaps with my iphone.

These pumpkins were the biggest I have ever seen. I had no idea they even got this big.

Lots of huge white ones, too.

Don't forget to follow the rules

My daughter, Brooke with Leila finding the perfect little pumpkin.

We took a hay ride.

Field of sunflowers seen from the hay ride. Wish they had sold these. I need some.

When we finished the hay ride we started choosing our pumpkins. This is my stash. All of these for $44. Not bad.

Now, I just need to start doing something with them after I get home from my trip.

Have you been to a pumpkin farm? This was my first time.

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. I loved doing that when our son was little. Have you been to the corn maze near Friendship Rd? I know it can't compare to France, though. LOL

  2. What fun, Kim. We go every year and have been going since our own kids were little. Now with the grandkids we go to a little more elaborate place about an hour from here..they serve food and have games, etc. It is such fun. xo Diana

  6. Sounds like fun. No, I don't think I've ever been to an official pumpkin patch. But if I did, my camera would be with me!

  8. Haven't been to a pumpkin farm, but when I taught first grade we had a pickup truck filled with pumpkins come to the school. It was filled with small pumpkins, and each first grader got to buy a pumpkin. This looks like fun! Beautiful pumpkins, Kim. I like the blue/green ones and the whites.

  10. We have one right up the road that we go to every year. I love the heirloom pumpkins! So far I've only picked up a few small white ones for table top decor. I'm sure we'll be making a few more trips as we get more into fall!

  12. Kim, that looked like so much fun! I have never been to a pumpkin farm. But when I saw the size of the pumpkins I had to stop and read your post. When I was 13 my parents gave me a patch in there garden. I planted pumpkin seads...and by fall I had 8 huge pumpkins..(I also had many reg. size)just like what you photographed. I had no clue pumpkins could get that big...and to be honest I was never able to grow any that size ever again. Loved our pics and the memory of big pumpkins that you gave me :)

  16. What gorgeous pumpkins! I have been to a lot of patches, but have never seen any as beautiful and with such a great assortment! Love those aqua-like ones mixed with the pale oranges and the whites - and all those for $44?? Around here, one of those larger ones could possibly cost close to that! Have fun decorating with them and, of course, please share pictures when you're finished! Hugs, Leena
