Dining at Rabbit Hill

10.14.2013

First let me start this post answering a question that many of you asked about my last post. The name of the architectural salvage place is Culpepper's Otto Depot in Otto, NC. Another reader found the info after I told her I wasn't sure what the name of the place was and would google it and find out. They are open Tuesday through Saturday if you decide to go. I am surprised they are closed on Sundays when the mountains are so busy this time of year.
 Now on to today's post.

I thought I would get my front porch decorated for fall this weekend, but nope didn't happen so today I am going to share more of Rabbit Hill with you.

I loved the dining room in Cat and French Guy's home. Look at the tiled floor, the fireplace, two beautiful armoires, the chandelier, and everything else in the room. I borrowed this photo from Kim.

I loved how the table was set and Cat painted the table beautifully in a pretty gray.

The centerpiece is just pear branches and other fruit mixed with potted plants and a couple of pretty candlesticks.

The runner is a French linen that Cat found at a fabric store that we shopped in earlier in the week.

Such pretty fireplaces throughout the home. Great mirror that I believe is original with the fireplace.

Several of us sat on this bench filled with wonderful grainsack pillows while we enjoyed a glass of wine or cider before dinner.

A table in the corner was set up with the wine and glasses.

And another simple pear tree branch adorns the top of this little cubby.

A pair of very old worn leather chairs sit along a wall and the King Charles cavaliers enjoy sitting in them.

Look at that sweet face.

The armoires are great for storing the linens, china and glassware.

Just look how beautiful the wood of the door to the room is.

I borrowed this photo from Kim, too so I could show you this wonderful duck dish that we were served. My, oh my, was that good.

Thank you, Cat and Alain for having us over for the best meal we had the whole time we were in France and I'm not just saying that.

If any of y'all are ever interested in a trip like the one I took you can find out the info at Cat's blog
