A couple weeks ago my mom and I went to my sister's to go out together for lunch to celebrate my sister's birthday which is on Halloween, btw. After lunch we went to our favorite antique mall, The Queen Of Hearts in Alpharetta. I had not been shopping their in months since I was saving up to go shop in France this past September. I had no intention of finding anything to buy, but you know how that goes.
I was just walking and browsing the booths quickly and then there-it-was! Y'all know I love decorating with dog prints and other dog items and y'all know I have a
slight sick obsession for lamps.
So when I spied this beauty I gasped and then I stared at it and pondered it and wondered should I or shouldn't I. Well, of course I should.
I love the lamp and the shade, but still not real sure about the crystal finial. The tag on it said it is from the 30's or 40's. I just wonder if it is too gawdy. :)
I replaced the tall brass Stiffel lamp that was here with this dog lamp for now. I may end up moving this to the foyer after by buffet from France gets here. For now I like it in the sitting room.
While at the Country Living Fair Kristen and I spied this dog trophy right about the same time and she knew I would want it.
The pumpkins have been removed and I just added a stack of books and an antler to this silver tray and placed the trophy on top for added height.
And the inscription reads Indiana State F. H. ASS'N 1949 Best Opposite Sex.
What?? What does that mean? We had a good laugh about that.
Oh, and the cutest dog of them all.
Have a wonderful week!
