Christmas Mantel and Vignettes

12.12.2013

The days and weeks are just flying by and I have only shopped for one person so far. That's alright I usually do wait till the last minute. I told Mr. Savvy that we are going to have to get this done very very soon. Hey, time is running out. Time is also running out to show y'all more of my Christmas decor so I better get to it.

Let's look at the mantel and vignettes in the great room.
Like I said before I kept things pretty simple this year. I just added things to the room without having to put a lot of things away like I have in the past.

I decorated with things I already had and did a natural/woodland theme using greenery, pine cones, antlers, deer and candles. All this works well with my dog painting that I didn't want to remove.

These are Pottery Barn stockings that I purchased several years ago. Leila said Bailey's looks like an elf boot.

I switched out the dried hydrangeas that filled this urn with greenery, pine cones and antlers.

I added this goat since it works with the woodland theme.

The fiddleleaf fig had to be moved from the table in the sunroom so I placed it here at the fireplace.

The vignette on the coffee table was an easy update. I didn't want to remove the basket and find a place to store it so I just added some Christmas type items like the wooden quail from Pottery Barn that I have had for years, a red candle added to  a small red transferware plate, and more pine cones plus a fuzzy green vine.

Love bringing my holiday and winter pillows out.

A couple of simple changes and additions created a Christmas vignette on this chest.

This is a plastic deer that I added some sheet moss to a couple years ago. It sheds a bit, but is holding up well.

This black lantern was actually sitting in my hoarding storage room just like this. I just placed it here in place of the demijohn that was here before.

My vintage bread board got a small wreath and a red gingham bow added to it. I kept the faux grapevine here, too from my fall decor.

Here you can see the my new chandelier hanging. Very hard to get a good shot of it in the room.

There is still much more to share. Hope y'all aren't sick of Christmas decor quite yet.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another guest blogger's favorite Christmas decorated room.

  1. It's perfect Kim with the woodland theme this year. The goat is cute. I know what you mean about time running out. I didn't realize all I have done this year craft wise and I have to share the rest of my house before Christmas. YIKES, too fast.

  2. You carried out your theme very well. Keeping it simpler is such a challenge isn't it? The excitement from the beginning of the season starts to wane at the end when it's time to pack up the decorations and put them away. Thank goodness for chocolate!!

  12. Lovely Kim, I am like you not much decor this year and what I did do was natural. It is a lot of work to get it all out and then take it all back down. Good luck with the rest of your shopping.

  23. Love this room and how well it works with the red sofa. I have two red loveseats and admit they are a challenge to work with at times. Can you tell us where you bought the winter pillow with the birds?
