My Favorite Room.....Refresh Restyle

3.14.2014

My name is Debbie and I am thrilled to be sharing My Favorite Room with you! Thank you so much Kim for having me over. Living Room Favorite Room.jpgWe have been living in this house for about 10 years, in that time this room has changed colors three times. When we first looked at the house there was forest green carpet in here. Before we moved in we decided to remove it and have the same wood floor that was in the entry and dining room continued in to the space.

A complimentary forest green tile was around the fireplace surround too. Don't y'all remember the days of forest green and burgandy? It didn't take me long to take a hammer and chisel too it. I used tumbled stone in a couple different sizes to neutralize the surround.

Living Room SofaThe space is open to several rooms. Very bright and casual! I bought the Audubon prints and the pine hutch from the same vendor, The Smart Set of Savannah Ga, I think we have the same taste! Pine Hutch
In my favorite pine hutch, I store things that I use to decorate with. Mostly things that are white, silver or aqua. I grabbed a couple of items to style my coffee table for you :)
Coffee table
On the coffee table I used a McCoy flower pot and a white vase from the hutch.

The color on the wall is OC-48 Hazy Skies by Benjamin Moore. I love it because as the day progresses the color goes from gray to blue to green, I don't know what I'd ever replace it with! It compliments the HC-107 Gettysburg Gray in kitchen perfectly, also Benjamin Moore.
Living Room Sofa
I have a mix of painted and wood tones through out the house. I have to refrain from painting everything.
Living Room Door
When you walk in the front door this is what you see. I took these photos in 3 stages, so you can see why this is my favorite room or at least one of the reasons :)

This is a summer shot, but even in the cold of winter, it's a great view. My living room is my favorite room, it's cozy and comfortable and just through the double doors is our outside living area.
I hope you will visit me over at my blog Refresh Restyle!
Thank you so much Kim!

  3. Beautiful room. I can see why it's one of your favorites. I love that it's elegant and welcoming all at the same time. The pops of color against your neutrals is very eye-cathing, and I really love your wall of pictures leading down the hallway. Thank so much for letting us into your little slice of home.
