The Other Side of the Guest Room

6.03.2014

Yesterday when I shared the GUEST ROOM reveal, and thanks so much for all the kind comments, I didn't share the closet side of the room except for this shot of the clock and basket of pillows. I mean who cares about a big ole ugly closet anyway? I did make a tiny change to the closet doors. It's all about the details, right?

I have always hated the knobs that came on the doors and they wouldn't even stay screwed on tight. So of course I ordered some new ones.

I love these over sized knobs from House of Antique Hardware that I have ordered knobs from before.

The new ones are so much better than these.

I love the change and the hefty size.

This was such an easy update.

While painting the bathroom yesterday I kept thinking that the closet doors might look better painted, too. Hmmm, maybe another project coming up.
:)

Have you worked on any projects lately?
I hope you will show them off at Wow tonight.

See y'all there!

  3. Kim,
Love the new knobs. Isn't it amazing how something so small can make such a big impact. I have been replacing my closet door knobs with old vintage door knobs and love how it changes up the whole look of the doors. Love that clock and how sweet the basket is with your pillows. That guest room is so inviting I might have to come for a stay!

  6. It's amazing how such a small detail can make such a huge difference! If you don't want to paint the whole door, you could just paint the raised panel or the area around the raised panel. I'm trying to decide what my next project will be. We bought paint for our bedroom, but we have a major repair that needs to be done first. Can't seem to get my husband in the mood to make the repair. Can't get myself in the mood. Lol

  7. You are so right, details are major! I can't believe the difference this makes, it actually makes the clock stand out more!

  13. Yup, it's all about the details. Kind of like the way jewelry completes an outfit.

  18. Two little knobs have such big impact! I have the same closet doors, and have changed some of the knobs. I've wanted to paint the doors in one of my rooms, but can't convince the hubs!

  19. Hi Kim. Who know knobs could make such an impact. You took plain closet doors to WOW! I am certainly going to have to update my boring closet door knobs. Thanks for the great tip.
