Weekend Shots

6.08.2014

I hope y'all are enjoying a beautiful summer weekend. It is hot here, but I don't mind being out in it to work in the yard. It's good to get dirty and sweaty. After I finished all the mowing, edging, bush trimming, and using the blower to clean up I took a few pictures around the yard.

I always edge the beds after I mow the lawn. I love a neat edge. Those two tiny hydrangeas were planted late last year and I'm not sure how well they are going to do.

After working all day I sat by the pond for while in the shade and this shot is the view from my seat with my neighbor's house reflection in the water.

Reflection of our very large sycamore tree.

I switched the camera over to macro and snapped some close ups. This lily pad leaf is floating loose from the lilies and has some debris on it from me cutting around the pond. I love the colors.

My big hydrangea bush is just starting to bloom.

And some are still budding.

So what have y'all been up to this weekend?

All these photos were taken with the Samsung NX300 and then edited a little in picmonkey.

Enjoy your Sunday!

  6. Beautiful sanctuary, Kim! Love your photos. At first reading of one of the inscriptions, I hastily (and mistakenly) read "...view from my heart..." But I'm sure that's not too far from the truth. :)

  23. Your hydrangea is very pretty and your edging is so perfect! My lace cap is getting ready to bloom, too. Hot days here in Alabama make my yard work a lot like yours-- a shower blew through awhile ago-- might be headed your way.

  26. Kim, your yard is lovely! We have been working hard in our yard this spring, and the past few days have been perfect for gardening. Our hydrangeas didn't really take off until their 2nd year, so maybe that will be the case with yours as well.

    Enjoy your week!

Great pond shots, too! Have a great night! We had the baby's baptism today so I am wiped out-got about 3 hours sleep last night- I might be getting too old for this stuff! lol (don't tell my kids). xo Diana

  33. Your pictures are so pretty and I have to say you rock the edging, LOL. I hope I can plant some hydrangea in the new yard because I love them. I have never had them before and would like two so I can clip some. That will wait until the fall not in the budget right now for the landscaping.
