Early July Morning

7.05.2014

I hope y'all had a fabulous fourth and are enjoying this long weekend. This morning was absolutely glorious outside. Won't here us southerners say that too often in July, but the temp was 60 and a nice breeze blowing with low humidity. I was actually chilly while enjoying the fresh air.

I first went out without a camera and then decided to go back in to grab it and take a few shots to remember how nice it was out.

Normally it is in the low seventies and very humid so we are enjoying this cool air for a few days until the sticky returns.

Bailey was having fun making the frogs jump in as she walked by the water.

This is my view from the green chairs.

Miss Bailey decided to snack on some weeds. I call her my weed eating dog.

This shot is from my chair, too.

Our lilies always grow up in a big mound instead of spreading out.

Bailey found a stick to chew on for a minute and then she was off again chasing frogs.

In case you are new here you may not know that Mr. Savvy built the rock wall by hand all by himself with rock left over from our house when we had it added to the front many years ago. I'm still pretending that I have a waterfall pouring over the large boulders. Those were added with a bobcat not by hand.
I guess one of these days I will have to get the waterfall added. I've only been waiting about eight years.

All these shots were taken with the Samsung NX300 and be sure to come back tomorrow for a chance to win one of your own.

  8. Beautiful pics, Kim! I sure wish that cooler weather would make its way to Texas. We've had 95% humidity and 95 degrees lately. This is the time of year I start dreaming of Fall. :)

  9. How beautiful your morning was - you don't often have that wonderful temperature in July in the South. Being from Virginia I have memories of how hot and humid it can get. After I moved to CA and I was home one summer - I told my relatives that I would not be back in the summer. I am waiting now until Sept to go home. However, we are having extremely hot humid weather this weekend due to storms coming up from Mexico.
Enjoy your lovely pond and tell Miss Bailey to be careful not to get wort's from those frogs. That what we were told when we were little that frogs will give you wort's LOL.
    Have a great week.

  13. All I can say is you must add a waterfall. I too thought my pond did not need one but we finally bit the bullet and added a water fall and it made all the difference in the world. Not only the sound of the falls, but the fish, the frogs, the dragon and damsel flies. . .a whole new biodiversity ecosystem. I love it. Go for it!
