A Vintage Framed Sampler

10.12.2014

When I was hunting at the Liberty Antiques Festival a couple weeks ago I came across another piece of artwork.

I stood there and looked at it and pondered about whether I really wanted it or not....for about half a second.

I've always had a fondness for these handmade pieces though and the time it took someone to create it.

I can't sit long enough to work on a piece of art like this, but sure am glad that someone else did so I can enjoy it now.

This is such a good size and the farm scene with the bible verse is perfect for this room.

And for $30.....SOLD!

You can see some other purchases from the antiques fair here and here.

  7. Love it, I couldn't create that either. I have tried to cross stitch and it is a mess. LOL

  9. i love it! last sunday i bypassed an embroidered scene of two deer that was in a booth at my favorite antique arcade and I have been thinking of it all week and regret I didn't grab it. It would be a 50 mile one-way trip to go back to see if it's still there...though on second thought, I could call and ask them to hold it for me... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Wonderful find and boy that was made for this room. It looks perfect with your red armoire and check drapes. It was meant to be.

  11. It's beautiful! As someone who in the past did a lot of handwork, it IS a lot of tedious work. I love the apple painting too.

  20. I does go so well in that room, I've did those samplers back in the 80's and 90's and they are a lot of work, the price you paid for it is a great one!
