Adding Autumn in the Entry

10.07.2014

We have finally had some fall type weather and I'm starting to smell that woodsy smell outside that I love in the crisp air. So since it is fall and feeling more like fall I guess I better start sharing more ways that I have added fall or autumn in the house.

Today we are in the foyer.

I left the same books I had here all summer and just switched some things out that have a bit more texture and say fall.

The green glass demijohn was replaced with this wicker one and for some extra texture I added the faux grape vine. The column base also adds more texture.

The only pumpkin I have added so far is this cute little velvet one that was a gift. It looks white in the photo, but is actually a blush color.

My cute squirrel was brought back out and I added a Park Hill candle and some acorns.

The first time I burned the candle I had to grab my candle snuffer to put it out since it is above my head and then I decided to just leave it out close by within reach. A couple of acorns fell out and I just left them.

I added this oak leaf plate that I have had forever.

A tall olive pot on the floor with some naturals added to it finishes it all out.

So no pumpkins yet, but it still says fall.

Hope you join me tonight for Wow Us Wednesdays!

  8. Kim: I went to the Liberty Antiques Festival on Saturday. I looked for you but I guess you went on Friday - It was my first time and I had a blast! I drove up, all by myself, from Charlotte. Along the way, I listened to my favorite music, stopped when I wanted (God love my husband, but he doesn't like to go on leisurely drives) and even got a little lost in the process! haha

Like you, I saw many items that were over my budget but I did buy a few antique books and an vintage "Rola" crate that now rests above my kitchen soffit.

Thank you for posting the information about the LAF. I would have never known about it, if you hadn't written about it! Oh, also your new profile pic is so flattering! You look great!
