Kim emailed me and invited me to share my favorite room with her amazing readers. I might have given her the fastest "yes" in the history of responses!
I'm so excited to be here today...can you tell?
My name is Leslie and I blog at House on the Way. My favorite room is one of my most recent room makeovers. It's the place that I call my own...my master bedroom.
Across from my bed is my gallery wall, which is filled with an eclectic mix of photographs, 3D decor, paintings and prints. It's a collection of color, style and texture. It's a mix of old and new, blending together seamlessly.
My master bedroom has another knockoff in the room. The DIY Branch Mirror is my version of a mirror I found in a home decor magazine. It hangs above the small vintage desk that belonged to my husband's grandmother. The desk has an adorable mail sorter, where I've added a few small collectibles in the cubbies and some feathers on top.
I have one feature wall that I've painted with stripes. It highlights my bed, which I've flanked with sconces, matching nightstands and layered vintage frames on glass armoire doors.
When I couldn't find exactly what I wanted in throw pillows, I decided to make my own. I created the two geometric orange and white pillows from a single curtain panel that I purchased at Target.
Our television is housed in an armoire. I removed the doors and painted it with Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan in French Linen and Barcelona Orange.
This mirror once hung on the wall, but I decided to go in a different direction and chose to lean it against the wall. Because the mirror is not as tall as a typical leaning mirror, I filled the space above it with vintage baskets.
The entire space is filled with pieces that I love. It's the place where I spend most of time when I'm at home. It's my sanctuary and I'm so honored to be sharing it with you today. Have a wonderful day and I'd love for you to visit me at House on the Way anytime!
Thanks so much Leslie for sharing your beautiful bedroom. I can sure see why it would be a favorite.
