Great Room Christmas....easy vignettes

12.13.2014

I recently shared my Woodland Mantel and today I'm sharing some more simple nature inspired Christmas decor in the great room/family room.

It was so easy to just remove the items I had in this tray and fill it with greens, pine cones, antlers and a glass vase filled with snow and a candle.

Oh, and I can't leave out my little deer.

I brought out my pillow covers from Pottery Barn that I purchased last year. I love this pattern up against my red ticking pillow....

......and the red plaid pillow. Both by French Laundry Home and found at the Country Living Fair.

On the sideboard I just leaned the preserved boxwood wreath from Decor Steals against my vintage breadboards and stuck this little St. Nick in front.

Beside that is this vintage basket filled with more greenery and some fabulous large ornaments I found at the Pottery Barn Outlet on sale.

When I saw these I just had to get a few.

Easy decorations that could easily stay throughout winter minus the St. Nick and maybe the ornaments.

My tabletop tree is in this room, too, but like I have said there are no gifts around it yet.
Geesh, I need to get busy!

Today we are celebrating our annual family Christmas gathering with Mr. Savvy's family at one of his sister's home. Lots of folk and lots of food.

Happy Saturday!

  1. Hi Kim,

How refreshing to see nature as the centerpiece of Christmas decorating, with little pops of red and white and sparkle, for festive touches. So pretty and cozy and serene.

Have a wonderful time at your gathering!

  6. That room looks great, Kim. Sometimes those simple things like greens and pinecones are just the best decorations of all. I have several of those large silvery "mercury" balls, too, and love them. I think they add just the right amount of glitz. I have everything purchased but have not wrapped the first gift yet. I am WAY behind! (again). Have fun at your in-laws/outlaws? Diana

    1. Thanks, Diana. Yes I wish I had gotten some more of those ornaments, but they were still pretty pricey at the outlet. Maybe they will go on sale soon.

  7. Beautiful!

I don't know if you have a Restoration Hardware anywhere near you, but that is where I picked up a bunch of gorgeous glass ornaments. They are marked down at the outlet and then marked down again. I have been back 3 times because each time I come up with a different display with them I realize I need more.

  14. It is all so beautiful Kim.
I too did a nature inspired Christmas. Most of it will be able to last through the winter months. With grown kids, I have scaled back a whole lot and am luving it.
