One Thing Leads to Another

1.20.2015

I am thrilled to say the garage doors are finished! After three coats of the Devonshire Green and one coat of white they are shiny and new again.

Mr. Savvy freshened up the decorative hardware with some black spray paint he had in his shop.

The light fixture will be painted soon.

I was going to only paint the front door, but one thing leads to another. I got to looking at all the grungy white trim and so I had to clean and paint all that, too. It just wouldn't be right to have a freshly painted door and dirty trim.

All the trim is done and I will clean the windows after the paint has had time to dry.

Here is a shot of the shutters and garage doors together.

Thank goodness for a few days of good weather to work on this project.
Now, we just need to clean up the yard. The beds are full of leaves, the monkey grass needs to be trimmed back and the rose bushes need to be cut back, too. I normally have this done long before now, but the weather has not cooperated the last few months or we have been gone or I am babysitting on the pretty days. Bad timing.
Oh, and we have a few discolored spots on the stucco that will be fixed soon, too.

Have y'all worked on any projects? Crafted anything? New recipe? Room makeover?
Well, I hope you come back tonight and link up at Wow Us Wednesdays.

Have a great day!

  3. Don't prune your roses at this time. Pruning can encourage new growth and you don't want that happening in case you have freezing temps. Just a FYI.

  18. I have so many projects on my list, but by the time we get back from our 6 mile walk each day, I am exhausted and it is too dark. I can't wait for longer days of sunshine.

    Your house looks great!

  23. Those colours really suit your home and the new shutters are lovely. I am stinkin' jealous {kidding} that you can do that in January!!!!! Oh the differences in regional temperatures. We are freezing our noses and butts off lol. I painted our trim when I did the doors too. Would have even if I wasn't changing the colour to white.
