Projects List for 2015

1.09.2015

It's Friday! This week has flown by. I am almost finished with my paint project I started last weekend and gave you a PEEK of on Tuesday. Did you guess they were shutters? We had new exterior shutters made for the house to replace the old PLASTIC ones. I had to prime the front and back of each one and then two coats of paint on the fronts. It  has gone slowly, but they will be finished today.  After this project is finished I have a few more things already on a list for this year. A couple of them were on the list last year and the year before that and the year before that and......

The new shutters will be the European country style that will go better with our house. I have wanted these for a long time and can't wait till they are hung. Sure wish the yard looked like this now.

The guest bath to the farmhouse style guest room will get a mini makeover like the other Guest Bath did last year. We would have started a few months ago, but the tile company that was going to offer me tile for the floor wanted me to use follow links to their company instead of no follow and I was not going to do that since it is wrong when being supplied with product. So I declined the product. I know my readers will not understand this, but most bloggers will.

I shared what our back deck looked like last July and that is was a project to be done. Well, it never was and now it looks so much worse than this. The mister said it should get done this year. I sure hope so.

I'm not crossing my fingers, but maybe this year my garden shed will be built and then I can play inside. You can visit my Garden Shed Pinterest board Here to see more ideas I like.

This project will definitely be done and soon. I'm going to paint the Bonus Room in French Canvas like the Guest Room and Kitchen

I'm sure there will probably be more little projects that come up, but I hope these bigger ones get done this year.

Do you have a project list?

Have a fabulous weekend!

  1. I see lots of vinyl shutters in our area as sometimes wood will warp, etc. in our climate. Those shutters will look nice - you should have built them - would be so easy!! The new paint will look nice in the bonus room. I think I understand about the tile. I would feel funny about someone giving me products anyway. You did the right thing!! No project list here. We always have a few things in mind and work on them as we have time.

    1. tina, yes hubby could have built these himself, but they were done much quicker by our friend and at very little cost. I have been asking him to build these for quite some time so I'm just glad he finally got them done.

  4. I wish I could have that many things on the list to do. One thing we HAVE to do is PAINT almost every room!!! It is still the "builders white", it is horrible paint, plus I NEED some color! I would give anything for a potting shed but we are not allowed to have them:( The shutters are going to be bEAUTIFUL! Can't wait to see them on your beautiful house!

  10. I hope you get your little garden shed this year. I had never mentioned wanting a little garden cottage to Steve, but his year I told him that is what I wanted for Christmas. A few hours later he emailed me a photo of the door that a friend had offered. I can't believe I have a garden cottage in my yard right now waiting for the painter to do his magic.

This is a link to the company that a friend used for her garden cottage. http://artisanstructures.com/
I was quite surprised at the low cost of her cottage considering its size. This is the link to the post I shared about her cottage which I am in love with. http://artandsand.blogspot.com/2014/07/little-cottage-in-garden.html

  11. Of COURSE I have a project list....actually, it is now a BOOK..and may turn into a two volume set before it's over! Happy New Year, friend! I absolutely understand about turning down the product. I do the same thing if it's not a good fit for my vision.

  12. Yes I do, both a guest bath reface and a garden shed ~ oh what am I saying, I know it will be my playhouse are on my list. My Mom and I had great plans to put up a cute little garden shed last year but then she suddenly passed away and I didn't have the same enthusiasm about it. Now this year I will put up the shed we dreamed about. I think she would like that. Good luck on your shed. I re~pinned some of your shed ideas. Check out my Pinterest Potting Shed page. I have a few more pins that you might like. The one you posted is adorable!

  24. So looking forward to seeing the shutters! Good luck with your projects, I totally get how plans sometimes don't work out. We need to finish a corner or our patio from several years ago (yikes!) Luckily last year we got big projects like a new roof, new garage door and garage man door, replacements skylights and front door painted with new weatherstripping. My goals this year are to use a lot of supplies we already have to continue updating and maintenance on our 16 year old home. Of course I will continue to freshen and update interior wall colours too. I would love to replace carpet upstairs but that won't happen this year.
