Girls' Trip

2.23.2015

What a weekend I had and I am pooped! I did all the driving for FOUR days on a girls' trip with my mom and sister. My sister offered to help, but I just kept on going. We had a blast and while I recuperate I have just a few photos to share that I snapped when we stopped at the beach yesterday on the way home.

We almost didn't even see the beach because first it was FREEZING the first two days and secondly we were too busy site seeing and shopping in Savannah and on St. Simons Island for two days.

If I hadn't remembered that we hadn't even walked to the beach while on Tybee Island we would have just driven home without seeing it.

If you have ever been on a girls' trip then you know how it is when you get so busy talking and shopping and forget things like.....S E E I N G the beach before you leave! This wasn't the best time of year for the beach with record lows and highs.

I'm so glad we took the time to walk over to see it, to feel the warm sun, and to listen to the ocean even for just a few minutes before we headed home.

I'll have some more posts to cover where we stayed and what we saw coming soon, but for now I have a house to clean (after hubby was home with Bailey by himself) and laundry to do.

Have a good one!

  2. Doing all the driving is tough, even when you do just keep going by choice. I love Savannah but have not been to St. Simons or Tybee. Looking forward to your info in your posts.

  4. I think you were on Tybee Island.....we were right there 2 weeks ago. It was SOOOO cold then, too
I do love the beach though- even on a cold day. Glad you were able to go with your sister and mom. That sounds like a fun thing to do together.
I came home to a pile of laundry and "mess", too. I swear men got "house blind" the minute we are out of sight. xo Diana

    1. Cindy, we didn't even get to do as much shopping as I hoped. My mom moves very slowly and between us getting a late start both days and driving time there wasn't much time left to shop. I never stepped in an antique shop. Did go to Paris Market and a few shops on River Street. Did not even take pics of the River Street ones. We did eat, but no pics of that.

    2. Sometimes you just have to live in the moment and keep the camera/phone in your bag. It's better to just enjoy time with your mom (and sister).

  11. Love Savannah and the area. We built a small house on nearby H H island for retirement...but our plans changed! Great area to recharge one's spirit! Shopping is Fun there.

  12. My husband and I went to Savannah a few years back & loved it. So much to see & do. We did a lot of toures and of course shopped. We ate dinner at Paula Deens restaurant, The Lady & Son's. The food was excellent. If I'm not mistaken, Paula Deen & her husband Michael live somewhere on Tybee island. It was a wonderful getaway.

  13. Kim, you were in MY neck of the woods! Love Savannah and all it has to offer. And I love St Simons even more. We go there often. I'd be interested to know where you went while on the island. It's a great place to shop, eat, relax and take in the beauty of God's scenery! Come back and I'll provide you a place to stay. ;-)

So happy you had such a good trip. It is always fun to get away. I saw some of Kelly's pics and it looks like you had a cute cottage to stay in. Can't wait to see your pictures too.

  19. I'm surprised it seems the beach is empty (maybe it's only on your pictures). With those record low and high tides, everyody here wanted to see that. I'm really glad that you stopped by the beach and shared your pictures.

  22. Girls' weekends are the best! It makes me feel good just to see these photos of the beach, while it is freezing outside. Stay warm and enjoy the snow!
