One Dozen Ideas for Vintage Items

I love collecting old items that were once used for a certain duty and taking those things and finding new ways to use them in my home instead of just displaying them on a shelf or somewhere. I found several things around my house and thought I would share some of them to inspire you to use those old items in a new way.

Enamelware breadbox becomes a book or magazine holder in a guest room.

An old olive pot holds my cane collection.

A 10 gallon crock that I paid only $99 for holds birch logs.

Belgian bulb basket holds a fiddle leaf fig.

A log basket holds a throw for those chilly nights.

An enamelware pail holds a house plant.

A French market basket shows off some of my vintage quilts plus they are easy to grab if needed by guests.

A yellow ware bowl becomes a planter

as does this ironstone punch bowl, too.

A lidded basket from Provence and a fishing basket become great storage for my pillow covers and more.

An old tool carrier called "Mule" makes great storage for everyday dishes.

A child's chippy chair is the perfect spot to place a stack of towels in the guest bath.

I finally have a pin it button added to my photos. I sure hope y'all will pin this to your home decor or tips pinterest boards.

I hope I have given you some ideas for using some vintage items you may have on hand or may be on the hunt for.

My son and his family are on their way for a visit this weekend.
Wishing all you moms a very Happy Mother's Day and enjoy the weekend!
