Patriotic Ideas & Projects

Let's start at the front door with Ann of On Sutton Place.

Ann is a master of the wreath as you can see. Her front door and porch welcome visitors and the season while decked out in tasteful red, white & blue.

Inside you can add an all American favorite the Mason jar! Not just regular Mason jars, but American Flag jars by Rachel of Maison de Pax.

This trio can be front and center in your home all season long.

Having guests for a summer dinner party? Set the table like Shirley of Housepitality Designs.

Love how Shirley incorporated sunflowers and that everyone got a goodie box!

How about for dessert something that goes hand in hand with America the beautiful - Apple Pie.

Apple Hand Pies to be exact. These from Vanessa and Heather of At The Picket Fence can even be carried outside to the watch the fireworks!

Party a success and friends decide to stay the night? Don't be caught with your flags down - have your guest room decked out in patriotic flair like me!

Aren't the flags in the ironstone pitcher I added last year simply perfect? This is something you could do way ahead of time, unlike flowers.

Not hosting, but being hosted? Whip up a few webbing wine bags by Kelly of My Soulful Home. That way, you'll have a hostess gift at the ready for all your summer socializing.

Not wine drinkers ~ add a bottle of estate olive oil or aged balsamic vinegar. Always a welcome gift.

  1. Some cute ideas! Red/white/blue really does not look good with my indoor colors - and my front door is dark green! LOL But I still might do that wreath. I usually incorporate flags in with some of my planters/pots and Old Glory will fly high for Memorial Day and the 4th.

Hmmm favorite way to celebrate in the summer? Cookout of course! Our favorite thing is just getting together with family and/or friends - eating is usually involved. We love the outdoors and you will find us on the lake, in the mountains, or camping (although NOT in June/July/August!!!). Love sitting out under the umbrella on the patio and just enjoying a beautiful day.

  9. Lots of fun ideas.

I wonder if I have time to paint Ball jars before our street party on Sunday. It would be fun to take bouquets of my garden flowers for each family.
