Summerizing the Antique Vaisselier

6.28.2015

I just love that name, vaisselier which is French and fancy for hutch.

This is absolutely my favorite piece of furniture in my home that we purchased for a song at a local antique mall a few years ago. Just a few simple additions gives it a touch of summer.

Simple additions like cut hydrangea blooms tucked in an old trophy.

Or old fishing floats placed in a box.

Plus simple additions of coral...

and shells....

mixed with the ironstone and transferware.

Just a few simple additions is all it takes to add seasonal changes.

This post is part of our monthly country French design series. I hope you will check out my friends below for more inspiration.

  11. I love it ! Your summer accents are perfect. And ya know in a day when every one is painting over old pieces then sanding them down to look old again ( nothing wrong with it BUT) I am so glad your piece your allowing its natural historical beauty shine without covering it or re doing it!
