A New Look in the Sun Room

8.24.2015

Last Monday I shared my new bound Smart Strand Carpet from Mohawk that I got for my sun room and told you that some changes were made in the sun room. Since we had to move the furniture out to put the new rug in I thought why not change some things up?

One of the first things that didn't come back in the room was the grain sack striped drop leaf table that was used at the end of the sofa. I wanted to use my antique lidded French baskets stacked instead along with my berry crate on top.

I love the way they look here. I'm sure you also noticed the wood coffee table has been replaced by the tufted ottoman that used to reside in the great room. They just made a simple switch.

Now I have a soft spot to put my feet up on.

Using an old dough bowl makes it easy to hold magazines on the tufted surface.

Pillows are always changing around here. I just grabbed these out of storage.

The pair of red lamps moved to a guest room so I brought in this one from the great room.

The Restoration Hardware outlet floor lamp that was never used in the great room now stands at the end of the sofa and is used nightly.

The wicker chairs are still here for extra seating.

On the other side of the room, my chest has to stay since it holds all my office things. Ugly bird picture has been placed in here again.

I keep several live plants in this room since they love the light. The galvanized stand is actually a divided pot from the Pottery Barn outlet that I found on clearance. I just turned it over and placed the potted plant on it.

The red antiques sign moved from the farmhouse style guest bath to here. I love the pop of red.

All the changes were simple and everything was found around the house and brought in here for a fresh new look.

Have you looked around your house and thought of how you can switch things around to freshen up a space?

Have a fabulous week!

  7. So light and bright. Can you tell me what color is your wall paint? I've been wanting a nice cream but most seem too yellow and yours looks perfect.

    1. Cindy, the paint is called White Sand by Benjamin Moore, but it is really a khaki color. It looks light in here because the room is flooded with light from the nine windows and one door. I thought I could use it in other rooms in the house, but it is pretty dark.

  16. I love moving things from room to room it's free and makes the house feel fresh. I love your changes!! Especially the baskets with the berry crate. I don't have a berry crate,,, hum!
The issue I'm having is I generally need help moving the heavy stuff and my husband has become quite annoyed by the rotating furniture. This is recent and I guess I need to tone it down :(
