Country Living Fair 2015

I love going to the Country Living Fair each year, but this year was much more crowded and it was HOT! Normally it is a nice cool or even cold fall day, but not this year. After having the most beautiful cool crisp fall days the weather decided to warm way up with more humidity just in time for the fair. That's okay though we had a good time and found some goodies and that's what matters. I took some pictures with my phone to share.

This mountain of pumpkins is always in the same spot each year and it seemed to be a bit smaller this year.

First stop is always the French Laundry Home booth. Do I need new pillows? No, but did I buy some? You betcha!

How about a Christmas tree made from grain sacks? It was only $400. I don't pay that for a normal faux tree.

Faces are blurred to protect their privacy.

I posted this on instagram. Do you see anything wrong?

There were a lot of topiaries. I would buy them, but I'm afraid I would end up killing them.

Nice ironstone.

Galvanized jack-o-lanterns.

Lots of artwork around the fair.

Thank goodness for shade to keep it a bit more comfortable.

You might even see some unmentionables hanging.

Lots of Christmas decorations and I snapped this because I already have an old grocery basket like this. There were several for sale.

The vendor I purchased my breadboards from the last two years was there, but I refrained from getting another one since I have no where to use another one.

This is more of his wares. He is from Hungary and ships this stuff over.

Cool vintage bamboo and cane folding chair with leather arms.

Hope you enjoyed the fair through my eyes.

If you are in the Atlanta area you still have today to go. It is so worth seeing.
At least it will be cooler today with cloud cover.

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. I always enjoy seeing the fair's outcomes, no matter what city it's staged in. Thanks for taking us along. But that sign, lol!

  2. So glad I got to visit the fair through your eyes! Can't wait to see what you bought and hope to make it next year!

  3. And did you point out that there was a misspelling in their signs ? How embarrassing. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Shopping on steroids !

  4. The fair looks like so much fun! Too bad someone couldn't spell pantry!

  5. I have always wanted to go the CL Fair as it looks like so much fun, lots of great finds and things to see. The "panrty" sign is too funny, they must have been tired when making that one, that's something I would do. Hopefully, next year the weather will be cooler. Can't wait to see your new pillows!

  7. Oh doesn't your heart sink when you put all your time and effort into making a sign and the word is misspelled. Did I spell that right? 😯

  8. Looks like fun with tons of goodies. That Pantry sign is a scream.

    Gros bisous ♡

  10. I'm putting this fair on my bucket list. The sign looks like a morph between "party" and "pantry." LOL

  11. We have been enjoying a week off just doing what we want. We have had glorious weather. Absolutely gorgeous without a cloud in the sky. Enjoyed some time in our beautiful Smoky Mountains. The colors are just stunning. Yesterday and today we are cloudy, will be getting rain by tomorrow (predicted for 3 days) from the hurricane. So, it's cooler (we have been in the mid to upper 70s this week with sun) but still nice. We haven't had the humidity. We thought about driving down to the CL Fair but opted instead to go to a nearby town yesterday for some antiquing and good eats. The older I get, the less I enjoy crowds.

  12. Wow! Brings back wonderful memories of my husband and I going to shows and fairs! Your pictures make me feel that I am right there. Thanks for the "memories". Norma

  13. So much good stuff! Some day I would love to go!

  14. $! Looks like great fun Kim.

  15. Wish I could go...but getting things back to home in CA.....

  16. That looks like a lot of fun! I'd love to visit the CL fair someday. I love everything to look at articles on the CL fair in England too!

  17. Kim, Looking forward to seeing your new pillows and other goodies you found at the CL fair. Attending the Country Living Fair is on my bucket list.

  18. Very cool! Loved all the pics:) Something tells me that their gonna have a little bit of a changed get selling that! Oh well, bless her heart anyways for the hard work:D

  19. Kim, we used to get Country Living Fair here in Austin, but no more. How I wish it would return! The outdoor woodland venue looks like fun for an autumn show. I would have bought some of the topiaries. They are difficult to find here at the plant centers. I came home with two from Round Top. So far they are still thriving. I keep Loi's photo with his topiaries as inspiration. I'd like to do something like he did on the back terrace. Thanks for sharing.

  20. i missed you guys this year. glad you had a good time and got your pillow fix. next year.

  21. Do you know the name of the vendor that sells the breadboards? Does he have a website?

    1. No, I sure don't and I don't think he has a website.

  22. Hey! Rhoda from Southern Hospitality bought that chair! I saw it posted on her blog. Those leather strap arms are very cool! Seems you ladies like the same things!

  23. My girlfriend and I were there Friday- and it was hot! We had a great time! Have you been to the Ohio one? It's pretty awesome too!

  24. These are wonderful pictures if only i lived closer, looks like lots of fun. Thanks for the fun of looking.

  25. I wish I could have gotten a breadboard. The PANTRY sign was spelled wrong:) Lots of great things there!

  26. Great pictures of the CL Fair. I have always wanted to go to this one. Some day!!! On the bucket list.
Glad you had a good time and found some great things to bring home.

  27. I am so envious that you get to go to such fun shows.

  28. Has a new been invented recently? A panrty?

  29. I have subscribed to CL since it began. I have many original issues. When I saw they started a fair, it was a new concept to this SoCalif gal. It has always been on my bucket list. Now fair type events are more common but I still wanted to get to the CL one. Well hunny bunny and I travel more now and we start our travels around the South by flying into Atlanta. This year we missed the fair by 1 month. So next year I should be there. Look for the star glazed eyed girl !
And I ship all my finds home from my pickings in the South via Greyhound bus!! So easy and cost effective.

  30. What a great fair! So much eye candy everywhere!
