How was your Monday? Good? We had a few breaks in the clouds and just seeing the sun for a few minutes lifted my spirit, but I have the song by The Carpenters stuck in my brain....Rainy days and Mondays always get me down... Do y'all remember The Carpenters? Some of you may be too young, but I know the ones around my age will remember them well.
To combat the blahs and brighten up the inside of the house a bit I went to a couple stores in search of some pretty flowers.
I bought a few spray roses and the prettiest long stem pale green roses with blush centers called Green Fashion that are in the first photo.
I mixed the pink spray roses with the green ones and tucked them in my newest ironstone pitcher.
I know these pinks and greens look like spring or summer, but they brighten the room when it's gloomy out.
I took these photos with it overcast out, but it was just the right amount of light coming in through the window for these shots.
These sure make my bedroom feel just a bit brighter.
I also bought some darker more fall like colored sprays, too that I will use around the house.
I wanted some seeded eucalyptus, but there was none to be found.
Looking forward to sunny days!
Hope you join me Tuesday at 7pmET for Wow Us Wednesdays!

Hi Kimmie! I'm so sorry to hear of all of the floods and rains your way. I'm so glad you're safe and sound. Your roses are just beautiful no matter what season. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I ALMOST bought some flowers tonight. I probably should have. Yours are gorgeous! Did you get them at a florist?
ReplyDeleteNo, I went to Whole Foods and another grocery store.
DeleteYour flowers are pretty enough to brighten up a blah day! And I am old enough to remember the Carpenters and the song! Ha! Back when music was really good music! Now that comment really shows my "old-ness!" Ha!

Rainy Days and Mondays ~ of course I remember! Flowers will cure just about anything for me. I brought home a bouquet this afternoon just because. '-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....one of the first things that I did when I got home was buying some fresh flowers...love those colors...yes, we certainly need to cure the blahs of this very dreary weather we have been experiencing...but I am not complaining as there are so many people affected by the horrible floods....Glad you perked up your blah day!!
ReplyDeleteFlowers certainly do lift the spirits-that and sunshine! Love how you combined the pink and green! My favorite Carpenters' song is "Close to You." Remember that one?
ReplyDeleteWe have had the same gloomy/stormy weather here and I did exactly the same thing. Yep,I came home with a dozen roses in purples and pinks! Your shots are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe forecast calls for sunshine today. Yay!!
Kim, who could ever forget the beautiful voice of Karen Carpenter, one of my all-time favorites! I love fresh flowers, they make me happy! Yours are lovely! Blessings, Pam (everyday living.me)
ReplyDeleteWe had the rain and floods early in Summer. In fact we lost someone we know due to flash floods. It was not a good start to Summer. Now we seem to be getting into a fairly normal Fall.
ReplyDeleteLove the roses. I need to pick up some fresh flowers next time I'm out. I try to do that at least once every week.
Love the flowers! And how nice that they're not fall colors -- kinda refreshing right now.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are beautiful and the sun is shining brightly in NC this morning!!!! Best morning in a couple of weeks! Thanks for sharin!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers and your white pitcher are the perfect combination! Cheerful and pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the pink with a touch of green and the white vase is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kim! We have sunshine now! Hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteAlways love fresh flowers and roses are so special! I have a little light that I ordered a couple of years ago so that when it's rainy and no sun I turn it on for a few minutes. It sits right by my computer and it's very small like the size of a cell phone. It is made for those of us that get the blues when there is no sun out. It works great too! Now when there's no sun, especially in the winter, I stay happy!
ReplyDeleteWe aren't getting the rain you are but i love your flowers. Roses always make me smile and yes i do remember that song and The Carpenters, she had a lovely voice.
ReplyDeleteNothing will do it quite like flowers! The soft pinks are a nice surprise for this time of year. I hope they did the trick for you!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous.
