I Had to Have One

10.27.2015

Remember when I shared a show home tour a couple weeks ago?

And remember this cute bathroom with the checked wallpaper and cute horse sign?

Well, I really loved that horse sign and wanted one for my powder room. So what to do? A lot of the time a product list will be left in each room when you tour one of these show homes, but there wasn't a list in the bathroom. No problem. I just pulled the sign off the wall, while no one was looking, and looked at the back and bingo! There was the price sticker with the store name on it.

It was from the At Home store and I just happen to have one pretty close to where I live so I was on a mission the next day to see if they had it. They didn't have it at my local store, but there is another store less than thirty minutes from me so I went to that one and lucky me they had it!
It was only $12.99 and so worth the trip.

So next time you see something you really like on a home tour just check it out a bit further. You never know unless you look.
wink

Sorry about the funky lighting in this room. This was the sun shining early in the morning and bouncing off the bookcase in the great room and reflecting back in this room. Otherwise this room is just dark.

Do you have anything new to share then I hope you return tonight for Wow Us Wednesdays at 7pmET.

  2. Great detective work! It's wonderful that it was something you loved that turned out to be so affordable. That's not always the case in the show homes. ;)

  12. Isn't At Home (f.k.a. Garden Ridge Pottery) wonderful? They have the largest sign collection I've ever seen - and at great prices. So clever to check out the back of the sign for the source. Great sign!

  14. Love it...and what a great price....Some of our high end show homes sell the furnishings after the tour for charity....I must admit I look at the bottom of pieces that I like too, to see where they are from....Would love an At Home store here!....looks great in the bathroom!

  15. Too funny! I just noticed we have an At Home store when I had to drive a little out of the way for something the other day. It is a huge store and I wish I would have had time to stop in... now I'm going to have to!

  27. Love the sign! Love At Home, too. I go to the one in Buford below Queen of Hearts. May be time for a little trip! My granddaughter loves horses and they are doing her room up, and my daughters maiden name is Adams, so very fitting. Yep, gotta go to At Home!!

    1. Kathy, the Buford store was out of that sign and I may have gotten the last one at the store off Indusn Trail. You can check though. The Indian Trail store was a huge mess!

  29. You are brave! If I did that, it would fall out of my hands, crack the toilet, and water would gush everywhere. :) I almost fell over when you told us the price. Way to go! I love it, too!

  30. OMG-That sign was only $12.99? Did you think you had won the lottery, or what? There for a minute I thought you were going to say that you took the thing off the wall and walked out with it. LOL (not that I think you would EVER do anything like that). lol

Hope you had a great day. Love it when you find things like that! xo Diana

  31. Love your new sign! I went to an AT HOME store near Charleston last week. They were putting out their Christmas things and of course, I had to get a few things! Leo's mother was an Adams and her father raised and raced horses near Chicago. And my brother has raised quarter horses all of his life. So I may have to go back to that store to see if they have any of those signs!
