More Fall Shots Around the House

10.03.2015

Let me just say if the sun doesn't return soon I'm going to scream! I can handle a couple days of clouds and rain, but days and days of it make me crazy. I love bright sunshine and am longing for some crisp cool sunny days to welcome fall. Since the clouds and rain are hanging on here for dear life, my house is dark inside and not too good for picture taking. I did grab my camera with the lens that can let in more light and just snapped these shots around the house that show touches of fall I have added.

In the foyer I replaced the little velvet pumpkin that sat in this old trophy with these feathers.

The live sunflowers that were in this confit pot died long ago and I just replaced them with some fall faux flowers and other textural pieces that surely won't die.

The lamp has been staying on these days.

I changed a few things in the dining room centerpiece. A couple of the plush pumpkins have been moved to other spots in the house and I added some greenery, berries, and gourds for more color and texture.

I switched out the finials I had here with this artichoke pair. I may paint them.

My little squirrel salt and pepper set from Pottery Barn that was a gift gets to come out from hiding.

More of this room coming soon.

This is a vignette I threw together and shared on instagram.
Be sure to follow me there for more photos.

Hope you have sunshine where you are?
I'll try to hang on a few more days without screaming.

  1. Oh Kim! I am just dying over here, too, from the lack of sunshine! I decorated the front porch but had to put a lot of the things away because of the blowing rain. I did want to add that those artichokes look awesome on your table!

  7. Your photos and decor look great. We were at Hilton head a week ago and only had two really sunny days. Bummer!

Please tell me which lens you use for low light. I have a setting on my Canon for low ligh and night shots that helps some...but...!
