A couple of weeks ago I shared that I've been playing musical chairs in the house. I have been refreshing rooms which I normally do in January.
I wanted to get some pretty grown up bedding in here instead of the vintage worn quilts and cheaper duvets I have used in the past. Nothing wrong with the cheaper bedding and I will probably use some of it again I just wanted something a bit nicer. This duvet from Restoration Hardware was on sale and I fell in love with the pretty blues and grays and subtle pattern.
The fabric is made in Italy and I wish y'all could feel this. I don't normally pay a lot for bedding especially when I love to change it frequently, but this is definitely quality bedding and worth every penny, but like I said it was on sale. I never pay full price. Some of my bedding in the master is from RH, too and is such good quality.
After the duvet arrived I was on the search for blue pillows. I found these gorgeous blue velvet pillow covers at the Pottery Barn outlet and they are the perfect shade of what I call French blue. I just combined them with other pillows I already had.
I love mixing a bold color with leopard. Leopard is a pattern yet a neutral. It goes with so many other patterns and almost any color.

The gray chair that I moved up here works perfectly with the new bedding and colors.
Another thing I got at the outlet mall were these Emery linen/cotton drapes at Pottery Barn. The panels are sold individually and were already marked down to the outlet savings and then for two days they were an extra 40% off. Score! I love the texture of these. Now I have the same drapes in both guest rooms and I got the better deal on these. I think I got the others for 20% off. I had cheap linen panels from H & M in here before and the sun had already done a number on them.
All the colors are working so well together in here now. I love having a collected look that happens over time.

I'm loving the blue and grey combo in here. I can also change out to grey or lighter blue pillows since their are multiple colors in the duvet to work with.
Have a great week and see you back here for Wow tomorrow night!

Love the grey--especially the weathered sheep!
ReplyDeleteThanks Darriele. Glad I snagged that sheep at the country living fair.
DeleteLOVE the new duvet...such wonderful soft colors. The gray wing back chair is perfect in the room....The "Furniture Shuffle", a good thing!....
ReplyDeleteYes, always shuffling around here. :)
DeleteLove the new duvet, the room looks so warm. Wish we had a PB outlet here in the Richmond area.
ReplyDeleteMary

ReplyDeleteI don't know Becca, it can be bad having one close by. ha
DeleteSuch soothing colors. I love the chair in this room and the drapes and mirror above the bed are swoon-worthy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kimberly!
DeleteIs the duvet sold out I don't see it on their site?
ReplyDeleteIt appears so, Mary Beth.
DeleteSo pretty Love the colors and pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marty!
DeleteKim....so pretty! Loving the soft blues and grays you have pulled together!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry. You know I value your pro opinion!
DeleteThis isn't a favorite combination for me. It looks rather dreary (sorry!) I'm used to seeing such lively color combinations in your home! I'm sure my opinion is not shared by most of your readers, but of course, I still love seeing all your changes!
ReplyDeleteSorry Betty that my taste is changing to calmer colors. There is still a lot of color with those bold blue pillows and other blues in the room. I'm glad we don't all like the same thing. Wouldn't it be a boring world if we did?
DeleteOh, Kim...those colors are beautiful together! Everything in the room just flows very nicely together. I even like that small little cabinet on top of the dresser. I remember you showing us that cabinet earlier in 2015...I like how you use here:) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy!
DeleteI love the duvet! I've considered the very same one, but even with a discount (rare) I couldn't as the dogs get up on the bed....I didn't want them to wreck it. Not in the "cards" now.....but yes, its' beautiful.

Nancy, it appears to be gone. It's not on their website anymore. Glad I snagged it.
DeleteSo beautiful and calming just what a master suite should be. We also love the blues, soft yellows, and creams.... we went through a bright color faze once also, it was fun when the kids were home and growing up, but then you just need to calm everything down..... and you do that with wonderful color, your home is so warm and cozy.... I can see myself sitting there enjoying a cup of tea.... blessings to you and Mr. Savvy....coming to you today from SUNNY French Gulch California! Curtis & Sherrie.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. This is one of the guest rooms and I love the light that comes in this room on the front of the house.
DeleteFantastic color combinations Kim. I just recently purchased 4 new duvet covers they sure take up less space to store than quilts. Im going for a new look these days too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn. Wow, four new ones. Have fun decorating.
DeleteOh my Kim! What a gorgeous bed! I too love love love that duvet. You are such an amazing decorator... you can change things up and they always look so fresh and fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks Yvonne!
DeleteLove what you've done, it's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy!
DeleteSuch soothing blues and greys .... Packing a bag ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gee and come on!
DeleteWhere did you get the bed frame from ?
ReplyDeleteThe frame is just a standard frame. The upholstered headboard was bought a few years ago on line from Home Decorators.
DeleteSo glad I came over to check out the duvet's details. Such a pretty and subtle pattern. The room is just lovely, Kim.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Even though you have blue in there, it still feels neutral to me. Very peaceful and relaxing. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThis room looks so inviting!
ReplyDeleteThose soft subdued colours make such a wonderfully serene atmosphere.
