Summer Sunroom 2016

6.20.2016

Happy first day of summer!
What a better time to share my favorite room decked out in summer style. I love to change up my rooms seasonally with just a few simple accessory changes like switching out pillows and bringing in things that speak summer like shells, coral and hydrangeas. This year the room is dressed in blue and white which makes it feel cool on these sultry days. The best thing I did a few months ago was to paint the walls in Dove White by Benjamin Moore to really brighten this room up.
I'm not going to say much and just let the photos do the talking.

One of the first things you'll notice is I painted the bench blue and I love this pop of color.

I painted it with Miss Mustard Seed milk paint in Artissimo.

I like to bring this lighthouse on St. Simons Island painting back out each summer. It reminds me of my childhood years when we lived there.

The only new thing in here is this white linen cotton blend slipcover from Pottery Barn. I snagged it a couple months ago when it was on sale and free shipping. I am loving the white!

So that's the blue and white summer sunroom.

Have an awesome week!

  3. Hooray for slipcovers for white furniture. The only sane way to have white seating.
I love matchstick blinds. My grandma had them on her sunporch, which was just the greatest place in the world to be on a hot, un-airconditioned summer day. Years later, I chose the same shades for an apartment. We even used them here on our pergola to keep the setting sun from blinding west-facing diners. Shows how versatile they are. And timeless.

  13. Love the pop of colour, a great way to add some summer to any room. I just bought a fabulous handmade raw silk cushion in grey from a tiny little shop in a little local French village. It has pops of colour all over it in the form of tiny hand sewn circles.

    1. Linda, I have so many pillows and pillow covers that it's sick! A lot of them are from Pottery Barn. Some are from HomeGoods. Others are from various online sites like Joss & Main, One Kings Lane and etsy.
