New Additions and a Fall Soiree in the Dining Room

9.29.2016

I shared my lighter dining room a couple of weeks ago and today we are going to pretend we are having a little fall soiree. You will notice some changes have already taken place in here again with one rather large addition that I told y'all I had added to the room after taking the photos for the last dining room post. So come on in...

I love a mix of chairs so I brought this one down from my stash room. I think Mr. Savvy and I are going to tackle replacing the red fabric with something else, but for now the red is fine.

My large buffalo checked drapes and pillows work well with the fabric on the chair.

The tufted bench was brought back in place of two chairs. I will use the chairs if we ever have family here eating. I have the holidays off this year.

The large addition is this new rug that I scored at the Pottery Barn Outlet a few weeks ago. After Mr. Savvy and I left the apple orchard we had to drive right by the outlet so we stopped and I went in while he sat in the car. I had my eye on a printed rug, but left without it because I wasn't sure the size would work. We went home, but the rug was haunting me and the sale was ending that day. So back we went and the printed rug got sold right in front of me. I had also looked at this one and was glad I got it because it's perfect. So two trips, forty five minutes each way, to the outlet that day was so worth it. The rug is still sold on line at Pottery Barn and is $699 for the 9 x 12. I scored this baby for $226!

I love the added texture and how it completely changed the look and feel of the room.

And back to our pretend soiree.  I think we will have some cheeses, meats, fruit and wine.

These are my Limoges plates I scored at a flea market a few years ago.

Old napkins from Williams Sonoma.

Let's pretend again sometime.

The bHome tour is still in full swing with day four.

  2. First of all, I LOVE that chair, I feel like flying down. I may have to run in your home say Hello Kim, great to meet you finally but I have to take this chair, HA. I know out of my mind and not that funny.

Love the rug and what a score and great persistence. Love the pretend cheese soiree. Cheese boards and wine is one of my favorites.

  3. It looks beautiful. I hate sitting on benches, but if it's just there as inobtrusive filler, why not!

  4. Kim, that chair !! I luv it as a head chair. The rug is amazing as well. 🙂 Coming over. I am a fool for a charcuterie meal. Nothing like wine, cheese, meats and fruits!

  16. Thanks for affirming blue as a fresh accent to neutrals. Your dining room looks so fresh! I introduced French blue in my family room this summer and love it. I have traditional fall
oranges and reds in my stash but just don't want to go there. I can add pumpkins and natural accents instead. Thank you for keeping us motivated to break old habits!
