The Textures of Fall

9.09.2016

Ah, fall....it's the season when the air becomes a bit crisper, mother nature puts on her finest show,  you can smell the fallen leaves, you cozy up your home and of course it includes football even though I could care less about football. I realized when I started my fall decorating that it's all about textures, too.

Texture with dried flowers.

Texture with a vintage basket filled with dried fruit pods of some sort.

Texture with a wooden bowl filled with greenery and vines.

Texture with fabrics.....

.....and trim.

Texture with carved wood....

.....and with worm eaten wood.

Texture with feathers.

Texture with more fruit pods and moss.

And texture with colorful leaves.

Full views coming soon over the next few weeks.

Have an awesome weekend!

  1. I'm wondering if we are going to have any of those beautiful leaves around here. Poplar trees are already turning (and leaves falling)- it seems a little early. I noticed many of our dogwood are starting to turn a bit and went around checking ours out. The younger dogwoods are not going to be turning their pretty red - the leaves were CRISPY and BROWN. Second hottest summer on record here and we are so very dry. It's going to affect our Fall colors, I'm sure.

    1. Awe, thanks. I use a Canon 6D and these were taken with a 40 mm lens which is what makes these photos good.

  5. Stunning photos. Autumn is definitely in the air in the early mornings, this morning on the school run it was down to the 50's, it felt positively chilly and was quite a shock to the system. Thankfully it is back up to the 80's with the 90's forecast for the weekend! But cooler mornings and evenings are refreshing. Hope you have a lovely weekend. X
