Last week I shared the tree and mantel so today it's all about the Christmas decor and the new furniture arrangement in the great room that had to take place in order for the tree to sit by the fireplace.
The view from the breakfast room shows the back of the new look. The sofa faces the fireplace and the sofa table sits behind it.
The vintage lettuce basket sits under the table and is filled with my vintage breadboards and pine cones. After Christmas I will probably just fill it with the breadboards since they had to come down off the wall in the breakfast room. Yes, need to share that room soon with the new look.
The concrete urn had the antlers in it already and I added some pine cones for more texture.
My vintage Belgian bulb basket sits by Mr. Savvy's chair with a fluffy throw for him to grab.
I bought a couple of new pillow covers from Pottery Barn. I love this gold toile cover.
On the other side is this wonderful crewel cover teamed up with a sage green buffalo check pillow I already had.
An old Christmas pillow sits in the leather recliner.
On the table by the chair two Santas stand by a dish of nuts. I guess those should be cookies. 😁
On the bottom shelf the vintage bread basket is filled with colorful ornaments handmade and bought not used on the tree this year.
Leftover ornaments fill a very old and discolored large ironstone bowl as the only addition to the coffee table.
I told y'all I just am not a gold blingy glam type of girl so I added a thick cream throw as the tree skirt in place of the gold sparkly one.
I also tweaked the tree a bit and added my tiny grain sack stockings with red stripes. I think I have six of them.
On the sideboard a bottlebrush wreath hangs on a vintage breadboard and some pewter colored ornaments were added to one of my boxes.
I found these ornaments a few years ago in an antique shop and wish I could find more. They are the prettiest pewter color and the color changes with different light.
The mantel was tweaked with these new flicker flame candles.
I added this "home" pillow to the bench. Isn't that what we think of at Christmas? Being home or going back home to be with family and friends
What do y'all think about the new arrangement?
I think Mr. Savvy wants it to stay this way. The chair that moved out for this new arrangement will replace the tree when I take it down if this is the way the room stays.
You can refresh your memory of what the old arrangement was here.
